This is a scholarly tome offering an overview of the issues relating to refugees in Europe in the Twentieth Century. The book is well-written and thorough for its length. It provides a good history of the development of modern institutions relating to migration such as the UNHCR and examines the failures of earlier institutions such as the League of Nations. I would recommend it for a serious student of immigration or modern European history.
