4.0 out of 5 stars Home Garden Onion Experience, February 6, 2010
This review is from: Unwins Exhibiton 7 Pound Onion 50 Seeds
In my experience growing onions, yes, they do grow slowly, but they also tend to do best in drained, damp, fertile soil that is high organic content. In my garden there are individual Wala Wala bulbs that are four years old, and show no sign of decay, even though we had a very deep freeze this winter. They are now - Feb 7 - shooting seed head, and will continue shooting seed heads all Spring and Summer. I use these to supply seed for growing green onions and new crops. This season I plan to grow some more exotic onions, such as this monster!
