The Unwired Technology UFRBS10 base station FRS 14-channel radio works with any brand of FRS radio unit for two-way talk or as a room monitor. Its 14 channels and 38 subcodes create 532 possible combinations that provide clear communication and compatibility with all brands of two-way FRS radios operating on the same frequency. The UFRBS10 has a long-range/short-range selection option. The long-range setting allows the UFRBS10 base station to communicate with any brand of FRS radio within a two-mile range. The short-range/intercom setting restricts the communication range when desired. In this mode, the UFRBS10 can be placed in a central location, such as the kitchen, and communicate with other FRS radios or stationary base stations within short distances. The location memory stores the five most frequently used settings. The UFRBS10 also features VOX for hands-free use, call alert to ring other FRS radios, and a talk confirmation tone that notifies the other party that it is clear for them to respond. The UFRBS10 base station comes with an AC adapter that allows the unit to run continuously. The base is fully portable, and uses four AA batteries.

Great reception! Great range! VOX works great as a Baby Monitor! Unlike the Memorex Base Station I also have. I do not have any complaints about this UnWired brand. The Memorex seems to randomly allow a lot of static and squealing. The Unwired does not have this problem!
