Worth it., December 28, 2011
This review is from: Up All Night (Audio CD)
This CD is amazing, it was completely worth it, and I am glad I got it. It was one of my presents for this holiday season and worth every penny. (: It came on time and in brand new condition. This was my first time ordering off of amazon and I plan on doing it again. Buy this album, if you love One Direction or simply just thier music. The songs are great especially for the first album, cant wait to hear new music from One Direction.

Perfect pop, January 3, 2012
This review is from: Up All Night (Audio CD)
This really is one of the finest pop albums of many a year! It's done exceptionally in the UK where the group had the indignity of coming second on 2010's The X Factor. This usually means career death but both OD and the equally popilicious Olly Murs have beaten this curse.
I have the so-called Yearbook Edition of the album, which apart from featuring superior hard-book style packaging, also includes 2 bonus tracks, the upbeat Stand Up and a co-write by man of the moment Ed Sheenan, Moments. It goes without saying that this is the version to buy.
1st single What Makes You Beautiful rips off Summer Nights on the intro but is a perfect pop single. It's hung around the notoriously fickle UK for three months now. 2nd single Gotta Be You has done well too but isn't actually one of the better tracks. One Thing is the third single and is just the most joyous thing. It does sound rather similar to the Backstreet Boys' I Want It That Way, but actually improves on it!
In truth, there isn't a bad track here. There's nothing too soppy, the vocals and production are first rate and the group's youth and vitality really come across. You just can't help but smile when Up All Night is playing and after 2 or 3 hearings you'll be singing along too. At 15 tracks the album really should outstay it's welcome but it honestly doesn't. It's a gem.
Of course One Direction will never be the critics favourite. But if you love pure pop music with great choruses and sparkling production, you should be enormously happy with Up All Night. I hope the US take the group to their hearts and that the album becomes a regular fixture on the radio there.
