Baby put your love on me...,

Pajama Party is often forgotten about when we mention the great freestyle girl groups of the day, but they shouldn't be ignored. While never as popular as Exposé, The Cover Girls or Sweet Sensation, they still had some catchy dance songs all in the freestyle vain that make this reviewer squeel like a little girl! "YO NO SE" is probably their most popular song, but who actually sang it is beyond confusing (if you'd like to read more visit this site http://www.freestyledivas.com/pajama_party/main.htm for a thorough explanation). While some of these songs are rather forgettable it is songs like the aforementioned that are irresistable even today. Another song of note is "Over & Over" which was also recorded by Brenda K. Starr (personally I prefer Starr's version but this one is enjoyable as well). The best song on this album, and in my opinion the best song they recorded was "HIDE & SEEK" with it's infectious chorus...
"Baby put your love on me, just open up don't play hide & seek. Show me something I can see. What's on your mind? Don't play hide & seek" While their follow-up CAN'T LIVE WITHOUT IT is better effort overall (of note is "I've Got My Eye On You"), it's this debut that features the groups signature songs and trust me it's worth the hefty $$$ people are charging. Gotta love these obscure freestyle acts. Of note original member Daphne Rubin-Vega went on to star in the hit Broadway show RENT as well as appearing in many movies such as "Wild Things".

As a fellow freestyle music fan, I decided to give this album a listen to and I discovered this is pretty cool. It's got some great upbeat songs along with two ballads. Here's my review on this album:
1.) Over and Over: I like this song. It's got a catchy melody, cute lyrics, and fun to dance to. 2.) Hide and Seek: Catchy song just like "Over and Over" with an infectious upbeat melody. 3.) Lovelight: Very 80's-like pop\dance song. 4.) Living Inside Your Love: The first ballad from the album. It's very soulful and sounds a little R&B-like with a pop twist to it. 5.) Yo No Se: Infectious dance song with a good melody and fun to dance to. 6.) Surfing in Babylon: I know the title of this song sounds a little unusual, but it's a catchy pop song. It's not too bad at all. 7.) Bring All Your Love To Me: Catchy melody, good lyrics, and once again, fun to dance to. 8.) Loving You: The second ballad and final song of the album which once again is very soulful with a pop twist. The last two tracks are remixes of "Over and Over" and "Yo No Se" which are very fun, dancable tracks. If you're a freestyle music fan, I recommend this album.

Pajama Party were unique they kinda blended New York and Miami freestyle together then added a POP. Definitely fun record to get you dancing and singing... Even if you don't know the songs you'll enjoy the nostalgia. in my opinion they combine the styles of The Cover Girls And Expose musicaly and the ending result is Pajama Party. They even rap a little which, while most would feature. PaJama Party however has unique soulful vocals.
stand out tracks- over and over-freestyle hind and seek love light- sweet ballad you'll be humming to yo no se surfing in babylon- love this song kinda rocky and infectious definately different from the other freestyle groups

Generally good album by this obscure but talented freestyle trio has a few forgettables, but the dance hits "Yo No Se" and "Over & Over" plus the beautiful ballad "Loving You" (my favorite) certainly make this one something that shouldn't be thrown in the wastebasket.
