About the Author

Jungian depth analyst, Harvard-educated physician, psychiatrist and author, Arthur D. Colman is an expert on scapegoating and what it often inspires: revenge. He is the author of nine nonfiction books, including the bestselling "Up from Scapegoating: Awakening Consciousness in Groups," and lectures and consults worldwide on issues of scapegoating and leadership transformation.

A resident of Sausalito, CA, and professor of psychiatry at UCSF School of Medicine, Dr. Colman is also the author of the Revenge, Inc., series of psycho-thrillers, which includes "Cloud of Terns" and the newly released "Revenge of the Scapegoat." Based on real-life stories culled from his years of treating victims of emotional and physical abuse, the Revenge series allows Dr. Colman to explore the deeply rooted need to get even. I think that this book has a wonderful subject and I really learned a lot from it. It is about finding balance between the individual consciousness and the group consciousness. Also it talks about the concept of the shadow and the scapegoat, which are the dark aspects of personal and groups that we choose to block out or push upon someone or something.
However, it was a very hard read and took a long time to grasp what the author was saying.

people at times can behave savagely, animals are more humane at times. This book teaches people through use of awesome passages from Jung and other great minds, not to treat one another viciously..
