New Zealand drum n bass duo Concord Dawn have been sadly overlooked especially in the US, which is a devastating tragedy when you consider they?re the only ones creating worth-while aggressive electronic music these days outside of the banal 4th generation ?industrial? cul-de-sac (new Skinny Puppy excepted, of course). 3.0 out of 5 stars Big Ups NZ-Massif!
This CD is a lot more commercial and radio orientated compared to concord's previous releases. If you are a hard-core dnb fan, then maybe you should give this one a miss. If you don't normally listen to a lot of dnb, and you've stumbled accross this lp, then you'll probably love it and definitely should buy it.

Taking dnb a step further away from its hip-hop and jungle roots, CD inject the genre with the vaporous synths of trance or the agro of gangsta-rap in invigorating form. ?Raining Blood,? named after the Slayer track, represents the most logical direction dnb has to go: railing chainsaw guitars backlit with an enraged scream and punishing beats. ?Horror Show? shows off inventive use of a theremin to haunted effect. The album features collaborations with numerous New Zealand talents such as MC Scribe who also deserve wider exposure in the northern hemisphere. Fans of Crystal Method and The Prodigy (who are sick of waiting for the new album) should give these guys a go ? this dance-floor burner hits the spot.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Greatest Drum 'n' Bass Ever, December 21, 2003

I love this cd especially how the mix their awesome, dark drum 'n' bass beats with different styles of music like in Get Ready with NZ rap master Scribe and in Raining Blood withsome awesome metal guitar. The main single Morning Light is awesome with its hard bass and interesting intro. Highly recommended!

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the Best Jungle Albums Ever, February 9, 2004

This is definitly worth picking up when it gets its worldwide release in March.

Its a ridiculously well produced album of some of the most evil, futuristic, dark drum 'n bass I've ever heard.

In a word of strong singles, they've accomplished a rare feat in underground electronic music....a complete album. Although the highlight of the record is Morning Light. A completely devestating and incredible track...a classic DNB track.

5.0 out of 5 stars Phat Drum n Bass, March 27, 2004

This is, along with moving shadow 02.2, some of the best Drum n Bass you'll ever hear. I listened to some of the CD at a party one night and loved I so much I bought it the next day. My favourite would probably have to be "Raining Blood" coz of the filthly slayer rif, but "Don't tell me" and "Get Ready" have catchy lines that you cant help singing along 2 as loud as you can... If you like Drum n Bass in any form, this CD is a must.

In all honesty, "Don't Tell Me (Featuring Tiki)", is well worth the money to fork over for this release....Yes, some of their songs are in a way repetitive, only due to the fact of "synth", but otherwise, a well produced album....(Comparing to "releases" I have purchased over the past 10 or so years.)
