About the Author
David Langford was born in 1953 in South Wales, read physics at Oxford, and worked for several years as a nuclear weapons physicist at the UK Atomic Weapons Research Establishment, Aldermaston. His many books include War in 2080: The Future of Military Technology (1979 nonfiction), The Space Eater (1982 sf novel), The Leaky Establishment (1984 black comedy of nuclear research), a contributing editor’s share of the multiple-award-winning The Encyclopedia of Fantasy (1997), and the authorized Discworld quizbooks The Unseen University Challenge (1996) and The Wyrdest Link (2002). Langford is a regular columnist for the magazines SFX and Interzone.
