Editorial Reviews

Supergroup L7's own Jennifer Finch formed THE SHOCKER back in 2002 to play a party in an old store front on East Sunset Blvd. (the least talked about side of Sunset Blvd.) with friends from the neighborhood. To keep a long story short: the party never really stopped. In 2005, Los Angeles is still a town full of earthquakes and rattlesnakes, riots and Hollywood diets, but this has not made THE SHOCKER lose their sense of humor or soften their ability to deliver aggressive new rock. Los Angeles comforts them like a veil of sweet chaos, as they sweep in and out of town, tour after tour. After European and US touring the band has finally finished their hottest attempt ever to conquer rock music again - "Up Your Ass Tray - The Full Length" (produced by Dean Menta (FAITH NO MORE and SPARKS). THE SHOCKER is not for the faint of heart.

5.0 out of 5 stars Rock'n'Roll! March 12, 2011
Format:Audio CD
I'll start off by saying I love L7, so I definitely had an interest in what bassist/vocalist Jennifer Finch was up to. Killer rock'n'roll! This is raunchy, mostly punk and an absolute blast from start to finish. Well written, well played songs. Music that will get your head bobbing and your feet moving. I can't help but smile all the way. Only Finch could reference a musical like South Pacific in My Life As A Plumber (my favorite here), do a punked out cover of Body Count, show her less than subtle sense of humor while singing about sex and drugs, keep me entertained and amused and thoroughly rock my socks off. This album is well sung, well played and well produced. I hope Jennifer keeps this band rolling because this is really good music and I don't see L7 getting back together any time soon. Crank up the volume and have a blast!

4.0 out of 5 stars Better than L7, catchier. July 10, 2010

I loved this album from top to bottom. Jennifer's voice reminds me of the 1990's riot grrrl bands, but even better. I am a huge L7 fan and thought this album tops anything they have ever done. The cover of Body Count's "Body Count" is also great.

5.0 out of 5 stars Really cool punk album November 11, 2013

Like Donita Sparks and The Stellar Moments, I was interested in what other L7 members were up to. I'm sad that only one L7 member is in this, but it's still good with or without them.

I love this album, I really do. My favorite song is a tie between Cash In, Smoke Rings, and Your Problem Now. Although there is not one bad song on this album, I always skip Good Head Again. If you like L7, you will love this! I promise. It's like a 2000's era riot grrrl album, but somehow, I still love it. Anyway, good album and definitely worth buying.

I would feel ashamed that I like this music, but I would not let my daughter listen to this(at least until she's old enough).
