Product Description

Yes, you can shrink your hips back to your pre-pregnancy size...and no, it's not a gimmick! In clinical tests, 95% of moms returned to their original hip size after wearing this post-maternity belt for eight weeks. Why it works: Relaxin - the same pregnancy hormone that loosens your pelvic joints and ligaments in preparation for labor - remains in your system for six to eight weeks after childbirth. Use this compression belt during that time, and it guides your hips back into position. Measuring tape and chart included, so you can track your results. The belt is soft and comfortable; it's made with medical-grade elastic and features anti-slip strips. You can customize the degree of compression on your hips. Imported. Many moms worry about losing weight and getting their hip size back after pregnancy. This post-pregnancy belt provides constant, even pressure to narrow the hips. Some moms report their hips are even smaller than before! Wear during the first eight weeks after delivery, while Relaxin remains in your system. (After this period, pelvic joints, ligaments, and connective tissue will harden back into place.) Wear Shrinkx Hips 12+ hours (from 6 to 8 hours) during the day (you can wear it under or over your clothing). You can remove it at night. Nylon and spandex. Hand wash (no bleach); lay flat or line dry. Sizing info: XS/SM fits pre-pregnancy pants sizes 0-8 or hips measuring up to 40". MD/LG fits pre-pregnancy pants sizes 10-1X or hips measuring 40"- 48". If in doubt, measure your hips at their widest point. XS/SM measures 45 1/2"L x 4"W; MD/LG measures 49 1/4"L x 4"W

    loves to sew
I bouhgt these to relieve hip pain after childbirth and help hips move back to pre baby size.

Also, when sitting the belt does not stay in place and was even more uncomfortable.

Even if not for any effort to shrink your hips back after childbirth, this is a great postpartum tool (took a few days to get used to) to use in supporting the hips. I used this in addition to a belly wrap and the difference between using them and using nothing at all is like night and day.

After my previous pregnancy I used nothing and it was so painful to walk and hard to get around with all the "still distended" abdomen but nothing to support it once the baby had been delivered. With my most recent child just born, I'm 5 weeks into using this and 5 weeks postpartum. I started using it the day after I delivered (gave my body one day to just rest in bed). My hips HAVE gotten a tiny bit smaller from what I can feel now.

My only complaint is the construction...it rolls over at the edges after a few days usage and basically the back still holds form but the front, especially if one has post baby belly (even a little) causes the edges to roll/curl over. The velcro doesn't stick as well now and sometimes it keeps popping off. I've even gone and picked away any possible lint that may have been impeding the velcro's effectiveness but to no avail.

I'm hoping this lasts me at least 3 more weeks to reach the full 8 week postpartum mark. I definitely like the support, but for $50, I would expect the construction planning to have been better thought out and last the full 8 weeks postpartum, at minimum, without unsticking.

I am 6 weeks postpartum, and I'm so impressed with Shrinkx! I bought it online right when I came home from the hospital but did not start wearing it very often until about 2.5 weeks post birth. Before that, I was just too sore. I also found it unrealistic to wear around during the day. It creates a bit of a muffin top when you already feel as gross as you can, and it is annoying to have to remove everytime you go to the bathroom. Also, with a newborn and a toddler in the house, I've had my hands full and can't keep up with the belt. However, I wear it when I sleep and challenge myself to keep it on when I go nurse the baby during the night. I read on the website that you should wear it when sitting because that's when your hips expand the most. Also, during the day, I keep the belt at my nursing chair and slip it on really fast before nursing. That way, I'm wearing it when sitting. So, I do that about half the time and then wear it to bed most nights. I have kept that up for about 3 weeks, and my hips have gone down FIVE inches. Just to give you a comparison - with my first child, I wore maternity clothes for 4 months postpartum. I was a size 4 before pregnancy and finally got to a size 8 at 7 months postpartum. Finally, by 18 months postpartum, I was back in my size 4's. And then I got pregnant again! Here I am at 6 weeks postpartum with the second baby, and I am already at those size 8 jeans very comfortably. Now, this doesn't get rid of the actual post baby flab - only changes the bones in your hips. So, once I finish shedding the tummy and hip flab, I feel I could be in my 4's with no problem. Right now, I can slip on a size 6 pair of jeans - they go around my hips perfectly but I can't button them because of my baby belly.Read more ›

During my pregnancy, I gained 32 lbs and my hips went from 36" (measured around the fullest part of the buttocks) to 38" by the time I delivered. I began to wear the belt 5 days postpartum and within a week and a half, my hip measurement went down to 37". I wore it for much longer than the 12+ hours recommendation, nearly all day long.

The Shrinkx Hips belt was uncomfortable. I tore during delivery and had to get stitches, so wearing the belt created friction whenever I walked, irritating the stitches. The pressure on my hips extended down to my legs at night while wearing the belt, making sleep uncomfortable. The belt is also beginning to tear at the seams, and the material is wearing out fast. It is much more difficult to get the Velcro tabs tight around my hips to put as much pressure on them as I felt in the first week and a half.

It has been about three weeks since I've started wearing the belt, and my hips are still at 37". In addition to the Shrinkx belt, I've been using the HipSlimmer postpartum hip corset for a few hours a day, which is much more uncomfortable to use, but is made of a sturdier material. I've lost 24 of the 32 lbs I've gained during pregnancy, so when I lose the last eight, I'm hoping my hips will be back at 36" or smaller. Hopefully, the Shrinkx belt doesn't endure much more wear and tear within the next five weeks so I can get the full benefits of this belt.

    *UPDATE* 12/12/2012

My hips are now back at 36" less than six weeks after delivery. I highly recommend this product to women who want to get back their pre-pregnancy hips. I'm hoping within the next two weeks my hips may decrease just a bit more, since it hasn't been eight weeks postpartum just yet.

I received shrinkx as a gift at one of my baby showers. I was VERY skeptical about their claims of "shrinking" your hips back down to their pre-pregnancy size or even smaller. I measured my hips before getting pregnant and then right before I had the baby and my hips had expanded 3 inches! I started wearing shrinkx 1 week after giving birth and 3 weeks later I was back into my pre-pregnancy jeans. Currently, my hips are back to their normal size and are actually a 1/2 inch smaller :) This is an awesome product and I highly recommend it!
