Best Headphone Amp Ever!,

This review is from: Upbeat Audio T794 Boosteroo with USB Connection and AC Adaptor for PC and Audio Applications (Electronics)
I had been put off from buying the Boostaroo T794 for awhile by unfavorable user reviews here and for their battery-powered versions, but as I read more of them I began to suspect that some were by people who had no notion of the relationships embodied in Ohm's law. Boosteroo's tables of specifications clearly show that the battery-powered and AC/USB models are identical, except for their power sources, and that Boosteroo's effectiveness related directly to the rated impedance of the headset connected to them, dropping off as the impedance level went beyond 24 ohms. However, some people just don't get it. I do, and am very happy with their product: the best little amplifier I've ever tried - hands down.My endorsement is based on several decades of listening through various audio devices since I have lived with a hearing impairment since age 12 (now 62). So I have had many disappointments along the way. Not with Boostaroo, however. As soon as I received it, I ran a non-scientific test, finding the weakest audio signal station on our new HDTV and, with my 24-ohm Sony Studio Monitor headphones connected directly to it, adjusted the TV volume to the level at which I no longer had to lip read to understand what was being said. That level was 90%. I then connected the headset to my new Boostaroo and increased volume from zero to the same hearing acuity level. That reading was 20%! In fact, I couldn't go beyond about 40% without risking damage to my ears or the headset. In my book, that signal boost is better than outstanding, especially since I could detect no distortion or noise at any audio frequency. Amazing! I no longer have to drive others out of the room turning up the volume on our external sound system so that I can hear. I can now just use the separate, pre-wired headset directly from the mini-plug circuit on the TV for my level of stereo audio while they listen to their level from the room speakers. Don't hesitate to buy this product if you want a top quality in-line amplifier for your headphones. Just be sure your headset speakers don't have a super-high impedance rating (listed on the box). Great product - I'll be buying more!

The T794 increases volume about 50%. The best feature is the USB power suppy. I do presentations and I am always on the road. This allows me to do a quick setup and I don't have to worry about IT dept. slowing me down. I don't have to look for power outlets and carry an ext. cords. This product has been a great little friend, being on the road a lot, I can jam in my hotel room, and it takes up very little space. I use boosteroo with Harmon Kardon ball speakers and my laptop and/or Ipod and I have a nice sound system Pros- very small, USB Power supply, connect mulitple speakers, Cons - not much power

I have 2 previous Boosteroos and they were fine, this one for the fine is worthless-it has a TINY amount of boost-maybe a 30% or so volume increase at most.NOT worth the money, I am unlikely to ever buy a boosteroo product again. The vendor was very good, the product stinks.
