Book Description

A Michael Book October 1995
This provacative volume channeled by Joya Pope is concrete, detailed yet goes deep and wide in its examination of the dynamics changing and shaking late 20th century life. Predictions, patterns to watch for, religion, soul growth, Gaia, weather change, world politics, Neanderthal ecological practices and consequences ... it's all there. Michael's view of the future springs understandably from history as we know it rather than leap-frogging across dimensions.Useful for grasping the macro-picture and for staying positive.Published also in Finnish and Japanese

Editorial Reviews

From Scientific American

...earth changes, political events, social trends, and climatic conditions are explored and illuminated by some interesting prophesies. The language is wonderfully humorous and nonjudgmental. I enjoyed the sections on preparing and protecting the body and soul during the rapid and exhilarating changes ahead.

An engaging look at the current state of the planet and its future.

Review

Acknowledging our present time as one of great change, dramatic and profound as it is, Michael sidesteps the traps of doomsaying and denial and shows how the changes we will experience are chosen and are part of each individual's evolutionary plan. The discussion of the soul ages of various countries and how their cultures are influenced by the soul-age makeup of their populations is reason enough to read this book.

All relevant topics are covered - Earth changes, politics, reincarnation, environment, population - with some interesting chapters on developing intuition and living consciously. A refreshing look at the interesting time in which we live. -- Connecting Link Magazine, Feb. 96

5.0 out of 5 stars April 2001- This book is still an Eye Opening!, April 20, 2001
This review is from: Upcoming Changes: Prophecy and Pragmatism for the Late Nineties (A Michael Book) (Paperback)
I found Joya's book to be right on target in viewing the changes we as a planet and indeed, as a species face at this time.

The voice of Michael through Joya, sounds exactly like my many years of work with the same group entity.

Though another reviewer and obvious Chelsea Quinn Yarbro /mystery/sci-fi fan couldn't "hear" Michael through this writing, informed students of the Michael material will be well acquainted with the "roles" we select during our earth plane schooling and would know that the channelers own role affects the vocabulary Michael speaks from. Joya- a "sage"- delivers her Michael messages with a bit of picante sauce. If you're a serious "scholar" and find picante too spicy, try the boiled chicken you'll get from another role/author. <FYI- I'm a sage too. Can you tell?>

Pope's prediction of the loss of 20% of the world's population gave me a shudder when I read this book hot off the presses. Now- in 2001, after watching the weekly reports of mass loss of life through earthquakes, floods, fire, tidal waves, hurricanes and other scenarios- and adding to that the weird multiple shootings, political genocides and ethnic cleansings we have seen- 20% doesn't seem that far fetched.

I especially enjoy Joya's/Michael's calming effect about where to go and what to do with our lives while all this shaking and quaking is going on.

For those who haven't read the book yet- don't be put off by the "...in the late nineties" title reference. There is information that is remaining informative and helpful for the next 20 years also.

1.0 out of 5 stars Didn't seem like true Michael material, December 2, 1999

This review is from: Upcoming Changes: Prophecy and Pragmatism for the Late Nineties (A Michael Book) (Paperback)
Having long been a reader of the Messages from Michael series by Chelsea Quinn Yarbro, I was pretty disappointed with this book. The voice of the author, Joya Pope, seems to overpower the voice of Michael, and I often doubted whether the information was accurately channeled. I disliked the tone, political correctness, and over-focus on the lives of celebrities. Many of the comments I have on this book also apply to Joya Pope's The World According to Michael. Much of the information in these two books was contradictory to the previous Michael material I have read. I haven't given up yet though--I've read some of Shepherd Hoodwin on websites, and will try his books next.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fascinating look at the world from an off world perspective, January 28, 2011

This review is from: Upcoming Changes: Prophecy and Pragmatism for the Late Nineties (A Michael Book) (Paperback)
This is a "Michael" book and I don't know if i can give a good explanation for who and what Michael is but I'll try. Michael is the name of a group of some 1000 discarnate beings that form a collective and are committed to assisting humanity by sharing their perspective, having all spent numerous lifetimes on earth. Michael was the name of the last guy out. imagine havingg 999 of your friends cheering you on while you muddled through several more lives than it took everyone else. but anyway...Michael is channeled by various people around the world and the information is consistent, helpful, thought provoking and interesting to boot. This book is written thru and by Joya Pope one of "Michaels" best listeners. It is a fabulous look at the changing demographic and political influence of soul groups incarnating in various countries and regions around the world. Unfortunately it doesn't really describe or predict much for this century but it does an excellent job assessing the '90's. I recently got another copy on Amazon because I had lost mine from years ago ( when I thought it was one of the coolest books I'd ever encountered). It really is intriguing and still relevant even though outdated. I would also strongly recommend the out of print "World According to Michael" by the same author for a detailed tour of the philosophy and aim behind this exalted Michael being.
