This thermometer is everything I had hoped.
Great price, accurate, big display, no problems, and it stabilizes very quickly - in just a few seconds.

It is hard to get too excited about a thermometer, but this one does the job. It works good to see if meat is done on the BBQ. Also it is priced a lot cheaper than other comparable ones.

I bought this "instant" read thermometer several months ago. I put instant in quotes because it does take some time to stabilize. Most do take a little time. but I wish it were faster, especially when grilling. The real problem I have with this thermometer is that it always reads higher than the actual internal temperature, resulting in undercooked meat. I have tried to calibrate it, but to no avail. You might want to find a more accurate model.

After working once the device malfunctioned - I reseated the battery and fixed the issue. Form factor on this device is good. However, the heat sensor works too slowly meaning one has to wait for quite a while standing over the hot grill waiting for the temperature readout to get to the temperature. Hence me not using the tag "instant read". Occasionally while standing for a while over the grill the readout has blacked over reacting to the heat - it recovers after a few seconds. So while this works it's because I've learned how to use it so I'd recommend looking for an alternative.

I've had one of these for over a year and it's a champ. People pay much more for similar probes, but this works perfectly for me, plus it's NSF-certified.

The description of the probe is misleading on the website and is much shorter than what is described.

It is barely more than 3 inches and is not useful for bigger size roasts.

Quite simply, this product did not work. The readings were totally off and trying to change the battery was almost impossible. Not recommended.

I'm a casual cook who loves to grill/broil/bake. I wanted to purchase a basic instant read thermometer that works and decided to give this a try after reading the reviews. So far, I have used this on frying oil, prime rib roasts, steaks of all kinds, ribs, cakes, you name it. It is very easy to use and temperature display adjustments are pretty fast. I wouldn't say its instant but its close enough for my uses (probably takes a few seconds). For the price, its great!

We've only had it for a few weeks and it is working fine. It's not truly instant, but immediate, so you can see the readout going up, like a mouth thermometer, only faster. I usually see what I need to within 5-10 secs. Haven't been using it to get to exact food temps yet, just using it to be sure we're cooking things like chicken hot enough.
