The batteries where installed buy cutting the original battery wire about half way on the wire and soldered the new wire in place.

The battery sent to me was suppose to be an upgrade from the original manufacture, providing extra power and longer run times for my Syma 107 rc helicopter.

My helicopter didn't have enough power to lift off more than 6 inches off the ground Because the old battery was not charging properly.

I actually ordered a 200 mah battery and the retailer shipped a 240 mah. Wow what a difference in this battery and the original! Right out of the package the heli flew for almost 10 minutes over several flights. It was a tight fit but I did not have to modify the canopy at all. My S107G has always had a slight backward drift which I attribute to the lack of a weight in the nose. Now it is perfectly balanced. I love it!

The battery works. Its giving me almost twice the flying time.
I repositioned the weight from the front of the old battery to the back for proper balance.
I have posted a picture in images for the location I used.

This battery gives my S107G more speed and longer flying time. This has been a nice upgrade for my S 107. It changes the center of gravity so the helicopter now drifts very slowly forwards when hovering with neutral stick. I actually prefer it like this, but if you want a totally neutral hover, you can always add a little weight to the end of the tail. The further out, the less weight you need.

The battery is a tight fit and installing it is a skilled job which requires partly dismantling the helicopter and soldering the wires. A perfect installation requires taking the receiver board out of the helicopter, unsoldering the the old battery wires and soldering the wires from the new battery to the board. If you do not feel confident to do this, you could also cut the original wires and splice them to the wires from the new battery. Make sure to insulate the splices, but keep it light.

I installed it with the lighter end where the cables are connected facing forwards to minimise the effect on the center of gravity of the helicopter.

I can't tell you how much better this battery is than the original. The original battery worked for about three weeks and started dying. The S107 would stop and drop crashing all the time. The last time it died over the kitchen sink and it fell into a pot full of water. I turned it off and set a hair drying to let it dry for 15 minutes. It never flew properly after that.
I decided to buy a new battery ($9.99) to replace the original, and what a difference! It never looses contact with the remote (not once) and has way more power.
I followed the instructions and the battery fit snuggly back in place. It does move in a forward motion at all times, small price to pay for the enjoyment I get.
The price has gone up, but it's still worth it!

I chose this battery due to the price and the MAh rating. There were several reviews pointing out that their helicopters went forward after installing the new battery. I was careful in placing it as close to the original battery placement after wiring it in. I took the advice of the manufacturer and another person on their review for the battery. Instead of soldering it (I don't have a good iron yet), I stripped the wires and carefully twisted them together and held them in place with just enough electrical tape to cover the bare wire. Keeping the additional weight is a must.

Now onto the performance review...

The helicopter was a bit louder than before, but the performance was outstanding! The total run-time was about 10 minutes, and it hovered really well, with a slight hint of forward motion, but it pretty much stayed in place. The forward motion on the helicopter is now MUCH faster, but it still reverses just as well.

I would highly recommend this battery to someone who has a little bit of patience and steady hands, and has a bit of comfort with installing minor electronics.

The shipping speed (free at the time of order) was pretty impressive. I received it in about 3 days.

pros
flight time - it went up to 9 1/2 minutes hovering from 1 1/2 minute with dying standard battery

cons
throws off balance - you must remove small square metal weight from inside nose above front led and tape to end of tail fin

installation - I cut the wires to the old battery and twisted the wires to the new battery wires and wrapped with tape - it worked

front cowling wouldn't fit since new battery is about 1/4 inch longer, I made new screw holes in the cowling to attach it to the frame - it worked

overall definitely an improvement in flight time
a no brainer if your battery is dying like mine was

This battery added about 4 minutes of flight time and appears to give me more accurate control over my Syma S107G. Definitely a great upgrade.

Don't consider installing this battery unless you are good with hand tools, soldering and feel like experimenting. This is not a 'drop in replacement' for the original battery on the S107. The battery is hard wired to the helicopter, so you have to cut wires and solder in the new battery. It is also slightly longer than the original. I chose to cut a notch in the canopy with a dremel tool to make space for it (ugly, but functional), also remove the small weight located up by the forward led. With the weight removed and the new battery installed the helicopter remains slightly heavy to the front giving the helicopter slight forward motion at all times, but just slight. Puting the weight on the tail fin solves the problem, but I'm not interested in adding any weight, so I live with the slight forward motion. The increased power and flight time is noticable however. You will notice the difference the first time you lift off. With the (optional) sculpted rear tail rotor prop and the new battery the S107 is now nearly if not fully 2X as fast as the original with a few added minutes to flight time.
