5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect Hard Drive Upgrade Tool!, August 24, 2008
By
R. Smit (Alta Loma, CA USA) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
I purchased this to upgrade a Dell Inspiron 6000 Hitatchi 60 Gig Hard Drive to a new Western Digital Scorpion 160 Gig drive. Software was easy to use and quick to install. Directions were clear. Be sure to Defrag your hard drive before starting this process and remove any temp files. Hard drive cloning software really took control of the hard drive and formatted the drive creating the clusters from 4k to 8k. After rebooting the computer, software to clone information was easy to use. I removed the old drive as indicated and installed the new drive. (Please note: The old 60 gig HD had an adapter installed on the pins. You must remove this and install on the new hard drive to fit correctly in the laptop.) Re-booted the computer and bios detected the new hard drive size. Now I have a new 160 gig drive and a spare 60 gig with my old information. It has been working for several weeks now and the new room and speed of the new drive make a huge difference. I also upgraded form 1 gig RAM to 2 gig. I highly recommend the cloning software and hardware. Very easy to use and it worked!
