5.0 out of 5 stars Clear, concise and thorough
This 120 page book gives one experience in using many of the new Office 2007 features. The lessons have the steps on the left page and the pictures on the right, making it easy to follow. The table at the back of the book makes it a breeze to look up 2003 commands so you can see where they are in 2007.

All in all a useful book, well worth the money.

"Upgrading to Microsoft 2007" is a short 125 page book that gets you up to speed on where Microsoft moved the features. Or maybe it's 62 pages - Course Technology uses the same format as Murach does where one side of the page is the text and the other is the pictures.

The book is intended for experienced Office 2003 users and assumes you are familiar with the concepts already. Parts of it moved a bit slowly for an experienced user though. It covers Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access.

The book does cover the new features in Office 2007 well. For the most part, it covers the new locations of common features well. There were a few times I couldn't find a feature with the instructions and the picture didn't cover it. There were also a few times the book referred to locations that were not the same on my screen resolution (page #s in the sample files and column #s on the ribbon.) The appendix mapping 2003 menu options to the ribbon was excellent.

While the book was good, I think you can get a lot of the material from free training such as Microsoft's interactive menu map. If you favor books, the book was fine and covers what you would expect it to.
