4.0 out of 5 stars The perfect bedside table lamp!
Last year I built my wife a nice red oak bedside table and we looked a long time for an affordable lamp to accompany it. This little lamp has turned out to be just the thing! The silver color and frosted/crackle shade are attractive and the touch-sensitive power feature is great for turning the light on without fumbling around in the dark too much. The three way bulb...

2.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful Lamp but Didn't Last Very Long
I bought this lamp at a local Target Store, and I loved it. However, it only lasted about 60 days, as it just quit working.... I tried different bulbs and outlets, with no positive results. It is gorgeous, but mine didn't last very long....

There's not much to say other than this lamp has the look and feel of a quality item costing much more. I highly recommend this purchase!

5.0 out of 5 stars Love it!, May 3, 2005
This review is from: Uplight Lamp with Crackle Glass Shade
I love this lamp! This is the third time I've bought this one. Great in the office when I need a little light at the computer at night, light without being glaring. Great for the bedside too! I love being able to turn lamps off and on without fumbling for a switch!

2.0 out of 5 stars I love my touch lamp - FINALLY, August 20, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Uplight Lamp with Crackle Glass Shade
I finally love my lamp after one return and a little tinkering. I read ALL of the reviews on this one, seeing the range of 5 stars to 1 star and couldn't quite figure it out. Some were unequivocal praises; others were equally emphatic in their disappointment. I figured: It must be a Quality Assurance issue - with about 10% or so defective product. So I played the odds and ordered one. SIGH - I ended up with virtually ALL of the problems described:

The shade came cracked. It wasn't exceedingly Obvious, so I tried it out.

Bzzt. It fried the first light bulb, and apparently the touch circuit. Amazon was GREAT at taking the return and sending me a replacement (5 stars for Amazon's service!).

The new one arrived; no cracked glass shade, but no touch feature! Just the on-the-cord switch.

Rather than admit defeat, I assumed that the touch circuit was defective. Rather than deal with Yet Another Return, I decided to order a new touch circuit: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000BQWVE6 from Amazon.

When i opened up the bottom of the lamp: no touch circuit to replace at all!

Oh well ... the Touch Lamp Kit came with detailed instructions and parts. The only thing I would suggest is having along with you some way of identifying which power cord wire goes to which power cord "blade" - the wide and narrow polarity blades on the end of the mains power cord; just a simple continuity tester. I don't KNOW that it makes a difference, but the instructions have you make one connexion to the "live" wire (the narrow blade) and another connexion to the "neutral" wire (the wide blade). I did that. Voilà!

Now i love my touch lamp!

I read the reviews for this item prior to purchasing it. After being in the Target store today, I decided to purchase it. Although the display at the store wasn't working so I could test the lamp, I purchased it anyway. I was happy to say that the lamp was on clearance for 13.98 but actually rang up 9.98. I currently have them displayed in my bedroom. The three level touch is great. That is the feature I like the most. Now I am waiting for my husband to come home and get his feedback. I would recommend this lamp.

5.0 out of 5 stars LOVE THIS LAMP!, March 18, 2005

I bought 2 of these lamps from the target store for my living room and i couldn't be more pleased. #1, there's no more cleaning and replacing lamp shades. These are much more contemporary. #2 no more fumbling in the dark for the switch. I love that it is a touch lamp. The three settings are great and provide plenty of light. And lastly, the price was greaT!

2.0 out of 5 stars Blown Bulb = Blown Touch Circuit, July 8, 2008

Between Target in-store and Amazon, I have purchased three of these lamps. All three have suffered the same fate--when the bulb blows, the touch circuit fails. I have no idea why, and from reading these reviews, it appears I am in the minority (or most folks do not check back in). Because I like the look, part of me wants to buy another. However, I don't think I can justify repeatedly purchasing a lamp that fails like this. Am I the only one?

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect Ambience, September 2, 2005
This review is from: Uplight Lamp with Crackle Glass Shade
I purchased TWO. These lamps look great in a modern bedroom (as mine is). My partner and I enjoy the 3-option lighting these 3-way lamps provide. I highly recommend these lamps to anyone wanting some modern style in their bedroom.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Buy - try different bulbs, November 20, 2004

I bought two lamps for my bedroom a month ago and I love them. I noticed some people had problems with the light flickering or not turning on. My suggestion is to try a different lightbulb. I almost went back to the store to return mine before I realized that the spiral fluorescent bulbs I placed in mine were the culprit. For some reason, those bulbs were just not compatible and made them flicker and sometimes not turn on (plus made a annoying buzzing noise). So if you are having that problem, try a tradition incandescent bulb and that may nix the problem. Other than that, no problems since, even with daily use. I would suggest this lamp to anyone looking for a stylish, versatile lamp without a big price-tag.

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful and convenient lamp, October 30, 2005
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Uplight Lamp with Crackle Glass Shade
The lamp is very attractive, gives a beautiful, subtle light, and it is so convenient to be able to adjust the lighting level by touching the base. It's also nice that it takes a standard 60 watt bulb, instead of an expensive (and short-lived) 3-way bulb. I liked it so much I ordered another one.
