Editorial Reviews

From Publishers Weekly
"Sometimes you have to leap upon a mystic tide and have faith the sand will shift and an island will appear" is the message sent telepathically to Bess Cameron, a radio psychologist whose divorce is about to become final. She's still in love with John Mystic, her soon-to-be ex, but his interests lie elsewhere?or so she believes. A meeting at the Seascape Inn to finalize the property settlement agreement brings Bess and John under the charming matchmaking wings of ghost-in-residence Tony and the inn's owner, Miss Hattie. Though beautifully written, this third Seascape Romance, as with many series installments, does not stand by itself. Best to begin with Beyond the Misty Shores, the first book in the series. (Dec.) FYI: Seascape Romance books are written alternately by Victoria Barrett and Rosalyn Alsobrook.

Review
Bess Cameron wants to finally end her marriage after several years of painful separation. But as a radio psychologist Bess stands to lose her credibility and her job if she does. With her life falling apart around her and a mysterious caller telling her to leap upon a mystic tide, Bess needs a vacation. So she packs her bags and heads for the Seascape Inn in Sea Haven Village, Maine. John Mystic doesn't know how he let his marriage fall apart, only that it has. Bess left him because he put her second to his investigative work. John has spent years on a kidnapping case, getting emotionally close to the woman who hired him. Elise became like a mother to him and John couldn't let her down. John follows Bess to the Seascape Inn to work out the details of their divorce, but dare he hope for a reconciliation after all this time? With the help of Tony, Seascape Inn's meddling ghost, John and Bess may just have a second chance at love. Third in the Seascape Romance Series (the first two were Beyond the Misty Shores by Victoria Barrett and The Perfect Stranger by Rosalyn Alsobrook) Upon a Mystic Tide is a sweet tale with the perfect setting. While the situation that brings Bess and John to the inn seems somewhat contrived, once they're together the story unfolds beautifully. John and Bess are memorable as a couple dealing with all the misunderstandings and hurt of their damaged marriage. How they regain their love is a story worth reading. Helping them along is the delightful Miss Hattie, the quirky townspeople and Tony, the matchmaking ghost. After reading the Seascape Romance Series, you'll be ready for a vacation at the Seascape Inn-- to find new love or rediscover an old one!Charming! The Seascape Inn is the perfect setting for a love story! Victoria Barrett delights us again with a compelling romance and warm, realistic characters! A touching tale of two people finding their way back to each other. Romantic and quaint! Upon a Mystic Tide has a cozy New England flavor that's just right for this holiday season!Kristina Wright -- Copyright © 1994-97 Literary Times, Inc. All rights reserved -- From Literary Times
