Book Description

Overzealous Narcotic Detective Pincher, on paid leave and under investigation, starts using drugs, and then is hired again as a Narcotic Detective in L.A where he steals heroin from the evidence locker until he is reeled in by the Mexican Mafia and the Hollywood Madam.
B.J, just released from prison, struggles not to look back at the Criminal Justice System that tried to kill him. Inspired to help prisoners turn their lives around through art, he works for the church helping orphans until he's on the run again. Add a beautiful ballerina who marries B.J, a prison protest to help the voiceless, and the temptation to do a massive drug run from Mexico, and you have the perfect recipe for a Spiritual revolution, where compassion is missing, all leaving the reader wondering; who are the real criminals? THIS BOOK IS FREE FOR PRIME MEMBERS.
Glenn Langohr's other books include: Roll Call 2.99 with kindle, Race Riots ( Prison Killers ), Lock Up Diaries ( Prison Killers Book 2 ), Gladiator ( Prison Killers Book 3 ) and Underdog ( Prison Killers Book 4 )

Editorial Reviews

Review

"Locked up for a decade on drugs charges and immersed in both philosophical tomes and modern pulp thrillers, Langohr penned Roll Call, a story of his troubled life. The author was not content to tell the story through the protaganist perspective, instead he toggled the angle like a master director. A vivid, clamorous account of the U.S. War on Drugs."

~ Kirkus Discoveries Nielson Media

"Three intricate plots tell three separate stories that ultimately intersect in a not-for-Hollywood ending. The story is replete with drug culture and prison culture and police culture. Instead of some fictionalized or romanticized version of any of the cultures, there are just 'been there done that' accounts that leave no doubt that this is a world none of us ever want to encounter. There are no heroes in this book, there are only real people who face real problems and deal with them in real ways the only way they know how. The social and political commentary is delivered the same way as the fights, and the loving; full-on, live or die. This is a binary book, you are going to love it, or you are going to hate it."

~  JT Kalnay

From the Author

Glenn Langohr ran away from a broken home with a death wish and entered the drug war with abandon. Business with the Mexican Mafia and Hell's Angels became a way of life until the Criminal Justice system interrupted him with Organized Crime charges. In prison he was involved in riots and spent years in the hole. From solitary confinement he started writing and hasn't stopped since. Now, he is an usher at his church and loves to reach out to other prisoners to help them turn their lives around. He speaks as a guest Lecturer at Criminal Justice colleges and writes articles for newspapers. "I want to show the world and the students and leaders of tomorrow, that we are only building bigger criminals by locking up low level offenders, where in prison, an addiction is bred into an affliction much harder to escape."

Abandon all hope ye who read.

Staying in line with the extremely low quality of the authors other works (spelling, grammar, formatting, etc.) this is a relatively short (200 page) novel that presents characters that are nearly impossible to believe, dialogue faults that completely ruin any sense of immersion in the book and pure literary sloppiness. I can't for the life of my understand why someone would go to the trouble of writing and publishing books but not take the time to assure what they've produced is, you know, legible and makes sense from page to page and chapter to chapter.

As Kirkus Reviews stated on "Roll Call", the book that precedes this "...The book feels baggy at parts and underedited at others-typos accrue like a tsunami, spilling over the text. There's not much excuse for spelling Nietzsche's name two different ways, both incorrect, on the same page." and I have to say some attention should have been paid to this statement, as the author has appeared to put no effort into polishing his writing while continuing to crank out low page count prison schlock.

Would *definitely* avoid this one unless you enjoy doing word scrambles to figure out what the author was trying to write and appreciate half page blank breaks in formatting spread randomly throughout the text. If the author is serious about their work and not just throwing stuff out there on Amazon to see "what pays" I would strongly suggest they take time to introduce themselves to the fundamentals of basic English.

5.0 out of 5 stars ANYONE WANT TO JOIN A DRUG CARTEL? December 25, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
This book is a real shocker. It explains a world most people don't know about. Some of the main personalities in this book are acts in themselves! If you want an eye-opening and riveting read grab a copy of this book, lock all your doors, keep your gun nearby...and read!
