Bought it for a class, but found the book to be interesting to read despite being forced to do it, lol. The book is well organized and the information is extremely up to date. There are multiple sources of addiction referenced, from actual drugs to eating and World of Warcraft.

Bought for a class, ended up loving the book. It's a lengthy read but very interesting! No boring, dry textbook here.

The way the textbook is written makes it a little easier and more bearable to read than other textbooks. Some of the "facts" stated are a bit questionable and lacking in statistics, but this really does get the overarching idea through and I think it's a good purchase for someone who is studying the topic or is just looking to get more insight into the world of substance abuse.
