I'm not a huge dub fan (prefer roots), but I could listen to this all day. It's some mellow stuff. Surprised this album hasn't received more reviews. Can't go wrong with this album.

LANDMARK SONIC DUB - STRAIGHT FROM THE HEAD OF "SCRATCH", October 18, 2008
This review is from: Upsetters 14 Dub Blackboard Jungle (Audio CD)
Originally pressed and released in Jamaica, The Upsetters 14 Dub Blackboard Jungle was one of the first Dub albums ever and is regarded as one of the best. Lee "SCRATCH" Perry on the production with help from Osbourne "King Tubby" Ruddock on the engineering, people could see this as becoming an instant classic, and in 1973 the active market was seemingly ready for a 100% dub album. The musicians are something else... Augustus Pablo on his Melodica, Bobby Ellis on trumpet, Glen Adams on the organ, Aston "Family Man" Barret on bass, Tommy McCook founder of the Skatalites makes appearences on the piano, Carlton "Carly" Barret on drums, Valentine "Tony" Chin guitar, the list goes on, all great muscicians who come together devinely on this album under L"SCRATCH"P production. Perry also helps with the percussion along with "Skully" Simms and "Sticky" Tompson. If you can find this album buy it. This is Dub in it's purest form. Every song is a classic.

Massively good, January 2, 2009

It's too bad many of these tracks are only two, three minutes long. Some of them could play aaaaaaallllll daaaaaayyyyyy loooooonnnnnng and I would be the happiest kid on the block. If you think of dub being the last third of a mediocre Clash album, or music that doesn't hold up to close listening when you're not stoned, or just a way to wring extra life out of a hit single, well I think this album will show what dub music can be in the hands of a master. Appropriate for all ages and all weather conditions.
