I tried walking wings and it helped!

The problem is that it rides up under his armpits, no matter how snug we fasten it.

I recently purchased this product for my 2 1/2 year old special needs son, whom refuses to walk. He is happy crawling everywhere but does occasionally like to walk (when it is his idea) with an adult holding his hands. I thought maybe this would be a waste of money, but so far it doesn't seem to be the case. My son's face lights up when I put him in this. He is so happy in this that he walks all over the house for 25 minutes before tiring of it!! He could never do that with me holding his hands for that long!! He has no balance at all, so I feel that this is definitely necessary for teaching him balance. I noticed that having the straps adjusted very low and close to his back, make him more stable and he has an easier time walking. Of course, I am hunched over, but who cares!! He is loving it and I am hoping and praying that some day he will be able to walk unassisted!!! I highly recommend this product for parents with special needs kids. This is a must have!

We were very excited to order the Walking Wings for our 8 month old. As soon as it arrived, we wrapped the walking wings around him, velcroed and snapped it shut, and then went about our first "walk." After only 3 steps, my son stumbled forward a bit. His stumble caused one of the fabric straps on the Walking Wings to rip totally off - a clean break at the seam. Our son immediately fell to the ground. Luckily, the fall was not hard, as the other strap remained in place. However, other babies may not be so lucky. We had this product a total of 3 minutes before it broke and put our son in harms way. I would not waste the money.

My dad bought this for my 9 month old son who loves to be on his feet and walk or chase around a soccer ball but since so young has very little balance even though he is really strong. After an afternoon of babsitting my dad's back was killing him so he thought this product would be great. My son loved the freedom he got from it and quite literally took off in it, but the problem is that bc it's not secure around the torso it can ride up under the armpits. Once I saw his arms turning purple bc of the blood restriction this caused it went back in the box and was returned. I've ordered the Juppy baby walker which is basically looks like big unerwear with straps so it holds him better without the problems of a torso-only walker. Maybe this would work better with a more cautious walker or one with better balance, but if your kid is like mine and wants to go go go this is probably not the product for you.

The item arrived is totally different from what's described/photographed in the advertisement; it reads "Walking Wings" with cute little wings and the letters are PRINTED in white and the plastic parts are in black. What arrived (it came directly from China so it took a long time to arrive): a much cheaper version of the original display; it reads "Walking Assistant" SEWN IN in yellow instead of printed in white and the plastic parts are in white (see photo). It makes the item look like some sort of a campaign device that came from the government or a non-profit organization drawing attention in the least desirable way as if the baby is in serious need of special care. On top of the style concerns, the product itself is completely different from what's displayed in the advertisement; in the stock photo, there are two straps with handles for adults, what's arrived: everything came in one piece like a one big necklace.
I have two babies at home, for the older one (17 months) I bought a mini backpack with a detachable rein for a safety device to go outside for a walk and this has worked very well. However this "walking assistant" device which I bought for my younger one looks nothing like what I ordered. If you are in need of something fast (i.e. travel plans in a week), style matters to you, expect to get something that's described in the photo, and do not have time to go through the return process (remember this is a product from overseas and Amazon is only a third-party seller), I wouldn't recommend this item.

Bad design & waste of money. Since there isn't any support in the crotch area, the walking wings tend to slip up under the arms, causing pain. Even if you tighten the straps, it doesn't stop it from slipping. Our daughter was uncomfortable and cried. I wish I had seen the review recommending the Juppy first. That looks great & most of all, supportive & more secure. I'm returning the walking wings and will order the Juppy.

The Walking Wings are well made and feel like a comfortable, quality product.

I found the Wings to be of limited value early in the walking stage. As other reviewers have mentioned, baby will try lean too far forward if you allow them to do so.

I have found these to be most helpful later in the learning stage when baby only needs assistance from one hand. This device really helps you to catch them before they fall which can otherwise be difficult when you're only holding one of the hands.

It has also been very useful as baby is taking her first steps on her own. Rather than have her limited to walking a few steps on her own between Mom and Dad (where one of us can catch her) baby is able to walk longer and practice longer distances without the risk of falling out of reach.
