This game takes you to a game genre that hasn't been touched yet. You're a cop taking down the bad guys in a somewhat like Mario 64 world. You can go anywhere and talk to anybody. Everything you do can effect you somehow. the controls take a little getting use to, but you'll adjust. The voice dialogue is pretty good too.Looking for something different? Go for this one!

Good, Different gameplay,

I dont understand why this game has such a bad rep. Its like a early version of grand theft auto. You get almost complete freedom, you get to be the good guy or the bad guy, or the crooked cop. I never had a problem with the graphics, and the voice overs are pretty good. I would recommend this game, its pretty good.

Urban Chaos,

In Urban Chaos you are a cop called Darci Stern. But in some levels you are a criminal called Mako. The graphics are not the best ones but the gameplay is good. You get most weapons by etheir killing or arresting the gang members ( or Neds as we call them in Scotland). In most levels you have a gun in some levels you must find them or kill for them. The freeform nature of the game means you can explore the area you are in. The weapons include shotguns, pistols, knifes, M16 machine guns and a baseball bat. In Mako's levels you kill the police and can murder innocent people and steal peoples cars (you can also steal cars and kill innocent people in Darci's levels as well).I am glad the Wildcat gang is'nt here in Ayr. This is a great game from the makers of Tomb Raider and Soul Reaver and I would recommend this to anyone.

Story:Yeah I said it! Seriously though, this game is another great classic Play Station experience. You play the role of Darci Stern, a rookie beat cop getting a taste of street action for the first time. Your assignment is the Wildcats gang - the local street trash terracing Union City. It starts out as a typical war between police and offenders but becomes so much more. I think this game has one of the most well put together stories for an action based game I have seen yet. The execution and flow from typical fanfare in story to an unexpected and epic twist is the best thing about the story and the game. Just watch the opening demo. If that doesn't get you pumped, then this surely isn't your type of game. Game Play: Right off the bat, the game play is welcoming from the constant and hilarious obscenities and voice acting to kick ass action. As I said before, you play the role of rookie cop Darci Stern (and another character later in the game; although your control over that character is brief). The game is mission based, requiring you to complete a host of missions from start to finish. I won't spoil it, but you go from learning all the techniques need to survive and control the game to experiencing the your beat first hand. Saving is done manually and only on the 'map' of the levels available and unlocked; so don't hesitate to save all that hard work from each of your successful missions when you get the chance. Along with your zeal you have a host of weapons like guns, knives, bats, etc. to make street life easier and to strike fear in those punks that oppose you. Speaking of controls, contrary to popular belief I never had any problems with the controls. They were done quite decently and are no stranger than what Eidos does in a Tomb Raider game, which this game was ironically produced by. In fact, the controls are MUCH better. I'll just say it won't or shouldn't take getting much use to the controls in this game; if it does, you are not playing Urban Chaos. Moving along, there are very little, and I mean very little RPG elements in the game in the form of stats. You see, while going around kicking the ass of street scum, how much a good or bad time you have is dependent on their stats and yours. Simply put, the better your stats, the easier it is for you to deal with the bad guys. There are white icons that symbolize what stats are raised with them. You'll know them when you see them, so don't hesitate to collect them! I say that because this game is not a walk in the park! While it definitely isn't the hardest game, it will kick your ass if you are not prepared, which of course is not a good thing for any green horn gamers out there. Still the level of difficulty is welcoming if you actually care for a challenge. Audio: I won't delve into this much but I will say the audio perfectly suits this type of game and the situations in it. It was, after all created by Eidos, who of course is responsible for the wonderful pieces of music in the Tomb Raider games which apparently are more popular than this one. Whether you're in a confrontation or just cruising down the bowels of Union City, there is a piece of audio just waiting to either soothe or get you pumped up for action! Simply put, you won't be disappointed, unless you're deaf! Verdict: I seriously don't know WHY this gem of a game is so underrated. While GTA did come first and has you doing the opposite of the goals in this game, which are apparently more appealing, this game offers a deep and compelling story that goes deeper than committing theft and murder for sport. There is, of course the 'pleasure aspect' of the GTA games too; if you know what I mean which is fine by me. However, if you're looking for something on the underrated side to tell you a great story about street life with an epic twist and have you experience it, then this is the game for you. With kick ass action, great story and inviting and addictive audio to simmer this game's great game play in, your experience as a rookie cop will never be the same and one you'll never forget.

Honestly ordered this as an add on to get free super saver shipping (as I usually do when ordering on Amazon.com). Honestly nothing wrong with this game. It is insanely difficult(both in controls and in having no clue where to go... ever). The controls are jerky and difficult. It is very hard to understand what the game really expects you to do on any level. I personally got addicted to the game and played probably 30 hours worth without feeling like I accomplished anything. So my only real review I can say is stay away unless you are insanely addictive and competitive. If you just want to prove to yourself you can perfect and beat this game then I would shy away. By the way if you do go through and beat it, you get kudos from me. I had to put it down.

When times get rough in the city here comes Darcey. Darcey is a cop that works out on the streets and looks for a gang called the Wildcats, she destroys thier weapons and some of thier gang members. Darcey also has a partner named Roper that helps her throughout the missions. So girls if you like to play games that put the girls on top and guys on the bottom you'll love this game. I gave this game four stars because it doesn't have the best grahics.

this game is no where near as good as GTA3 but it is kind of like it the controls are set up similarly to tomb raider the game was fun but i didn't like how you had to pass a driving test and a physical test on the game before you could do missions
