5.0 out of 5 stars A CD to lift your spirits....
The first song "Latin Quarter" is wonderfully fresh and enlightening to listen to...the songs that follow are a great blend of hip-hop and smooth jazz. Great instrumental CD to own.

2.0 out of 5 stars Only One Good Song
This disappointing CD has one good song, "Latin Quarter", which still receives lots of airplay. None of this CD's other songs have the infectious, up-tempo beat of "Latin Quarter" and some are very slow. The final track, "Storytime" is okay however it is puzzling why most of this CD is overly mellow.

5.0 out of 5 stars Swept away by the Latin Jazz experience., March 22, 2001

If you want to feel as if you have been taken away and engolfed in the sites and sound of Spain, then buy this cd. I have all of his cd's and love them all. He has a sound that just captivates you and takes to a that special place.

His music has that soft, jazzy, latin sound. It's romantic, even passionate.

If you like Latin style jazz, then by this cd...buy them all!

this cd was recommended by my brother, I was a bit reluctant, in my restaurant we put soft and quiet music, well, is been four years of not getting it out! From other dics I usually get tired in six months, but with this one is always a joy when it starts.

This is an outstanding collection of acoustic guitar variations...tempo, mood, etc. Latin Quarter is a track I can listen to over and over again!

Marc Antoine is my favorite light/Latin jazz artist out there; I own all 4 US-release albums, having bought his newest one sight unseen. (Sound unheard??) If you're into light jazz at all, you'll probably recognize at least one of the songs here. It's ALL good; Ottmar Liebert and Flamenco-guitar fans will feel right at home.

If you like any of Marc's stuff, you'll like this as well. He seems to be a steady talent who produces good music. He'll be around for a while.

A wonderful CD with Spanish flair. Latin Quarter, El Matador, Forget-Me-Not, Sandcastle, and Urban Gypsy will keep you moving long after the music has stopped. Marc's unique, guitar-style is uplifting and inspiring. Marc is truly gifted and talented. No one plays guitar with as much heart and soul as Marc does. It's grooving, rhythmic, folky, jazzy, pop, hip-hop, urban groove guitar, artfully combined with flamenco...Five stars, sans doubte!

I liked the somewhat "acid jazz" flavor of this album. One of my all time favorite - "high repeat" cds, you will never get tired of this one.

The music is very mellow. Great for relaxing and enjoying the pure sound of the instruments. The tracks are well balanced and flow well. If you like guitar, you will love this CD!

5.0 out of 5 stars Masterpiece, February 17, 2006
This review is from: Urban Gypsy (Audio CD)
I don't know what cd the previous reviewer was listening to but this is another masterpiece for Marc Antoine. I don't want to name all the songs but did they hear The title track "Urban Gypsy"? How about Forget-me-not, Brazil'96 and Paris jam. This is good stuff. The guitar play is outstanding. There is a perfect mix of whatever tempo you like. Something for the romancers and dancers. If you just want to listen that's there too. This is really a great cd and if you have a lot of knowledge of Marc or just some, I believe you will really enjoy this cd. Check it out!!!
