I can't believe that this album exists on this site WITHOUT a review! So I'll throw in my two cents and say just this - Urban Hymns is an elegant, richly textured album that everyone should own. I have my copy (Japanese pressing with extra tracks) and wouldn't trade it for anything, except maybe another copy of the same disc.

This album is absolutely amazing in every way you look at it. You can never get tired of it. I bought this record right when it came out in 1997, and it is still a Cd that I play regularly. Richard Ashcroft's lyrics are pure genius, and Nick McCabe's guitar parts are classic. If you don't have this album then buy it now! I promise you it will be money well spent.
