5.0 out of 5 stars Simply Superb!
This is just a "cool" CD...so is the previous Urban Knights. Every artists adds a wonderful uniqueness that brings a tremendous sound to this CD. The "togetherness" of all the artists is to be comended. Great sound that exemplifies contempary jazz at its best. Looking forward to Urban Knights III.

I love straight-forward jazz. I hate interludes and I hate R+B/rap/soul. Unfortunatly this album has both. I love the songs on it, however, that are just instrimental jazz work. Well, there's got to be someone out there who likes the R+B stuff, otherwise it wouldn't be on here and other albums. You know, R+B messes up all of the good jazz albums. Anyways, if you're like...

If you put Ramsey Lewis, Gerald Albright, the incredible talent of Jonathan Butler, the smooth sounds of Najee, and the great Sonny Emory in one room what do you have? GREATNESS? The first song on the CD (Scirroco) Set the tone with Sonny Emory's drums and Jonathan Butler's guitar and Ramsey Lewis on Piano. I couldn't stop snapping my fingers and moving my feat. These guys belong together. This Album was the perfect follow-up to the first Urban Knights album. Maurice White(Earth, Wind and Fire) does it again. He is one of the best producers in the business. Thank you Maurice for the gift of sound.

5.0 out of 5 stars Jazz Gal, December 24, 2002

Well, I'm originally from CALIFORNIA and I saw NOTHING wrong with this CD. I had misplaced my Urban Knights III, I know, you're thinking...SHHHESSS..yah..well, I went and got this one and MANNN...it blew me away. I think it's cut 11 where it starts out like big band and then rips into a hip hoppy beat...I'm so there with that. That's my favorite cut. I put this CD in and before I know it, it's played over and over. I never get tired of listening to it.

Anyways, if you're like me and you don't like these sort of songs, buy a Sony CDP-CX230 cd changer. It features a delete bank to get rid of such R+B songs. Once you get rid of those, you have yourself a 5-star album!
