I bought this backpack for my brother. He loves it so much. It is prefect for First Grade student. It looks good on him. It has the front pocket for him to put those unnecessary stuff to school without messing up the school stuff at the main pocket. Highly recommend this.

This bag got two thumbs up for an entering second grader and his Mom. The son wanted a nice looking bag without any cartoons on it, but slick enough to look a bit space-related like something an astronaut would use. Mom wanted something sturdy but not expensive. We are both happy with this bag. Urban Sport's backpack appears to be sturdily made to last the trials of the school year and maybe more.

This Urban Sport's backpack model has a roomy main compartment and a smaller, narrower compartment next to it. The smaller compartment has slots for pencils, pens, bandages, etc. Good for those smaller things you don't want floating around cluttering the larger compartment. The adjustable straps are well padded. The backpack also has a carrying handle on top. There are also two net pockets on either side of the bag for water bottles, etc.

So far the backpack has worked flawless for the two weeks its been used so far. No complaints from either Mom or son. At the end of the year, though, we'll see how well this backpack held up. I'll come back to report about it.

UPDATE 8/6/2011: After a year of use, this backpack still looks good and has a lot of life left. Seriously considering having my son continue using it through the third grade. It's still one of the better looking back packs out there at a good price.

This was just the right size for my 7 year old boy who is attending 2nd grade. A lot of the other options were too big and weren't comfortable on him. It looks sturdy. It doesn't have too many different compartments but that's not as big a deal at this price point. Very happy with purchase.
