1.0 out of 5 stars important topic, January 10, 2005
This review is from: Urban Sprawl: Causes, Consequences, and Policy Responses (Paperback)
Urban sprawl in American cities is an important topic, but this book doesn't cover it fairly or accurately. Broad assumptions and causalities are asserted and "proved" with anecdotal evidence. Facts are also wrong (p. 28 about densities of cities), or cited without the actual data. The underlying theme appears to be that all American cities function (or disfunction) in the same way and can all be fixed by imposing regional planning and equity redistribution.
