Editorial Reviews

From Library Journal

An Argentine and a long-time resident of Paris, Cozarinsky treats exile and return in a cinematic, apparently autobiographical story ("Sentimental Journey") and a series of sketches he calls "postcards." An epigraph from Christopher Isherwood (whose Berlin Stories caught Germany in political and sexual flux) suggests an appropriate context, for Argentina itself has passed through decades of homegrown, often sentimentalized fascism. There's an occasional emotional vista here, but Cozarinsky's postcards scan more often as intellectual exercises and produce the effect of staring through the wrong end of a telescope. For collections of post-modern fiction.
