5.0 out of 5 stars I'M READY TO YETI!
Wow, this one is unique, bizarre and hilarious! You control a Yeti who has to find a mate - to do this you must play through four mission-based levels. Each level has a minigame based on a classic arcade game, for example the Soup Kitchen Manager reminds me a lot of Tapper. 1.0 out of 5 stars Urban Yeti
I played this game once, then never again. It is very short and has sub-par graphics and sound.

Each level has a minigame based on a classic arcade game, for example the Soup Kitchen Manager reminds me a lot of Tapper. Quirky humour and agressive human AI means that lots of funny chain reactions occur (throw a cat at a bum, the bum hits a dumpster pushing it into the road, a car smashes into the dumpster etc). When you finish the game a special password is revealed that unlocks all levels, all minigames and a bunch of fun extras. Hurrah for Cave Barn Studios (the developer), I don't remember the last time a game made me laugh like this.

5.0 out of 5 stars Really fun stuff, July 31, 2002

A really bizarre, fun adventure. Forget about "beating" this game, it's more fun to just explore every inch on each level to discover all the quirky happenings. I was rolling on the floor with laughter. A really fresh and innovative addition to platform gaming.

2.0 out of 5 stars let's be honest, June 24, 2005
= Fun:2.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Urban Yeti (Video Game)
Urban Yeti is not a very fun game. It is probably the "quirkiest" game available for the GBA, but that certainly doesn't make it a good game. It's a cool concept, but the execution just falls flat and reeks of amateurish effort. Terribly annoying collision problems, a tedious password system, and (despite what the description says) ugly graphics are the main problems. After a couple of levels, the "free roaming" stages just become "where the heck am I going?" levels, not exactly my idea of "freedom" & "exploration" in a game, despite what some others have claimed. Often the "objective" is so unclear that you will just try to follow the arrow guide, which just seems to run you in circles. Basically, that is the essence of the game: half-baked and aimless. For some reason, I do throw this in my GBA here and there, but I have no idea why- maybe it has something to do with the old cliche of watching a train-wreck or wanting to see dead bodies or something. Really, I can't stress how awful this game really is. Let's be honest, this game in no way deserves four or five stars. Anyone who has played a videogame since 1986 knows this is a VERY sub-par game. Fire Emblem is worthy of five stars. Zelda: Minish Cap is worthy of five stars. Metroid: Fusion is worthy of five stars. I'm being generous to Urban Yeti by giving it two stars, but really, I feel sorry for anyone who bought this new, because I'd only recommend picking this up in the $3-5 range. If you want to have a benchmark of how BAD and NOT FUN a game can be these days, this is a great candidate. If you believe that life is about the virtue of suffering, and even your entertainment needs to be punishment, pick up Urban Yeti. Me, I like FUN games. I like quirky games. But I'm not going to lie to you and tell you this is a fun game.
