Product Description

Size: One Size | Color: Forest

The filthier the music you listen to, the dirtier the ears get, so keep 'em fresh and clean with the washable ear cushions and headband of the UrbanEars Humlan Headphones. Just pop the soft parts off and toss them in the wash--that's it. The Humlan also comes with a Zoundplug, which allows a friend to plug their headphones into yours so you can listen to the same jams, and an in-line microphone and remote so you can pick up calls and control your tunes without digging through your pockets.

Well.. I just got mine, here are my first impressions:
I mainly compared them with the Urban Ears Tanto (open back), Sony V55 (closed back) and the Audio Technica ATH M50 (closed back)

Pros:
- Look amazing! (got the cobalt blue).
- Removable parts very easy to detach.
- They fit very snugg and will stay on very securely (this + the washable parts make this pretty great for jogging and the sort).
- They isolate an impressive amount of noise for what it is (they isolate much more than the V55 but not as well as the M50).
- Zound plug is super convenient. Use it all the time.
- Remote + Mic, a most for a portable headphone.
- Decent bass.
- Pretty loud.
- Seem quite durable and the materials used seem very sturdy.
- OK for portable use out and about.

Cons
- Sounds muffled, kinda congested and confused. For some complex songs everything becomes a mushy mess (this of course when compared to the other two headphones. But it still sounds more muffled than the Plattan)
- The fit is a little too tight, you’ll need to stretch them a bit or else you’ll have a headache after 30 minutes.
- Not as light on the head as their predecessor, the Urbanears TANTO.
- Can find A LOT better for 50 bucks.

This is supposed to be the replacement for their small open on ears called the TANTO which is now discontinued apparently (you can still find it on Amazon for really cheap), which was a very light open headphone. Perfect for skyping, riding a bike, running, etc, because it let in outside noise. The HUMLAN will not let in enough sound to give you awareness of your surroundings.
It’s a shame they stopped producing the TANTO.

Good sounding and good looking headphones at a reasonable price. Cell phone mic works better than expected. They feel solid in hands so I can imagine keeping these in rotation for a few years (I've killed a couple of cheaper on the ear headphones from big name brand).

These feel and sound like the best headphones I would ever have. Mind you my previous headphones were the iPhone stock in-ears and JetBlue flight handouts. Not the greatest but they comforted me enough on my commute-I just knew I had to act quick before I lost my hearing.

Well for you mediocre listeners like myself, these are great sounding with ample bass and treble balance. The cushioning is soft on the ear. I read they were snug, not these- they fit perfectly. I prob also have a small head. I love the feel and finish. The washable fabric option is neat for the lighter coloured ones- I got the black one. Wish I'd picked up the navy's.

One or two cons (not really a prob) but there isn't a volume control on the remote. This piece has a single button that when clicked/double clicked can start/end a call or fastforward or backtrack to a song.

2nd slight issue head band fabric appears to slide of every now and then. That's slightly more irriritating actually.

But all in all I love this head/ear gear. It's beautiful, comfortable and great sounding. Don't chicken out and get the black one like I did, get a fancy colour- you won't regret it! Love love mine will pick up a 2nd coloured pair.
