I do not own an espresso machine, but I do have a thermos with a narrow neck which I was never able to completely clean. This product was able to properly get rid of all the dead coffee-and-milk residue that had eluded my brushes a quarter of the way from the top, due to the odd angle and the tight squeeze of the thermos shoulder. I saw a friend use URNEX CAFIZA on his espresso machine, and the way it easily cleaned strong coffee build-up was amazing. Having ordered a couple jars, he graciously gave me his already opened one, which I took home. The powder is easy to use. Highly concentrated, a little goes a long way. A teaspoon of CAFIZA in the bottom of the thermos, then fill with hot water, and let soak. I'm ashamed to admit how long I'd let the old stains accumulate, so let's just say I had to reapply a couple more times because these were NOT recent stains. Yet this product removed them all--with a little time for the harder ones. When I brushed inside the thermos, I removed what looked like brown lace: the dead residue! I rinsed thoroughly, and the insides looked brand new. It also helped me clean the stains on my counter under my coffee maker. THIS PRODUCT DELIVERS!!

I was a little skeptical about the reviews, but it really does work.

It was used on a DeLonghi 32BAR that I've had for about 2 years now. I had used vinegar and baking soda to clean it in the past. However, it had begun to brew very slowly. The company gave some advice as to how to use their cleaner. They were contacted, as the lower frothing screen is different the the normal baskets in other machines.

It started to work almost immediately. However, it did take about 3 days, one run a day in the lower basket frother screen only, to free up the clogs in that lower plate. It now brews the way it did when I first bought it. Further, the screen looks like it did on that first day.

A caution: I've seen a review where the product doesn't have a taste. But, per the label, it is not people friendly. Make sure all components where the product is used are rinsed very well.

BTW, this product costs about the same as a replacement screen for the DeLonghi. And, based on the very little I've needed to use for the cleaning, it should last a very long time. I don't think I used a teaspoon so far. That's 4 lower screen cleanings, plus 1 full clean.

Not only do I own an espresso machine at home, but I also work at Starbucks (I may or may not have a caffeine addiction). These are the pills that we use to clean our Mastrena espresso machines and Clover Brewing Systems thrice daily. So will I trust a cleaning tablet, that we use on machines worth twice the amount that my car does, to do the job on my machine at home? You bet your sweet tootin!

Bonus Capabilities
-Steam wand not giving you the pressure it used to? Fill the milk pitcher with very hot water and one tablet. Soak the wand in the solution for ten minutes. Then wipe that sucker down and purge it! Good as new.
-Dat bean hopper getting a little too greasy and weird for your taste? Two tabs and 16 oz hot tap water. Dunk a sponge or rag in the solution and wipe the hopper down! (never use an even-slightly-abrasive sponge or scrubber, this will create micro scratches that will only trap more oil in the future .)

The product works very well for cleaning coffee machines. (I also use it to clean my travel mug and it sparkles afterwords)

I use this product to clean my coffee maker. Before I found this cleaner, nothing I used worked well and the "clean" light came on constantly. In fact, I replaced my coffee maker. But, I hated the new one. When I found this cleaner, I tried it on my old coffee maker. It was amazing! It was like a brand new coffee maker! This cleaner is wonderful, and I hardly ever have to clean the coffee maker now. It obviously does such a thorough job cleaning the coffee maker that the pot remains clean for much longer periods of time. The instructions aren't easy to understand (I think maybe the measurements are metric and it's geared for use with espresso machines. However, I came up with an amount to use, and as I said, it works great! I highly recommend this cleaner. This product lasts really a long time as it doesn't take much to keep the coffee maker clean.

The seller sent this product instead of Puro Caff that I ordered. They emailed and said it was the same product with a different label.
Used it to soak the carafe, all areas touched by coffee grounds in my drip coffee maker, and it worked fantastic. It removed all the thick residue inside the carafe, the cup the filter goes in, the stainless coffee mesh filter like new, and I only scrubbed it a little due to the build up from never cleaning it like this before. Only took 15 minutes instead of soaking for 30 minutes. When I finished the water was black like tar. Using a teaspoon in a large bowl of hot water every month, this product should last a long time making the price a great value.
The coffee tastes much like it did when my coffee maker was new and the machine should stay looking good for a long time to come.

This stuff is amazing. I use it at home to clean our stove top Moka pot as well as the head and piston of our espresso maker. It removes all coffee oils and stains like magic. I've also used it to clean numerous thermos coffee carafes at our church. They had gotten hideously coated on the inside with coffee stains and attempting to scrub them all with a bottle brush was too hard and didn't work well anyway. I just filled them with hot water, put a teaspoon or two of Cafiza in them, and came back an hour later and poured them out and rinsed them--sparkling clean. One warning. This will discolor aluminum with extended contact. I discovered that with my Moka pot. It's fine to soak the insides because the discoloration doesn't show. But if you leave it on the outside, the finish will become dull.

I never even knew this stuff existed or that you had to back-flush your espresso machine (Rancilio Silva). The instructions were not so great, but an instructional video on youTube made it pretty clear. You do need to get the 'Espresso Supply 58-Milimeter Backflush Insert, Metal' ... It's pretty easy to use and you will find it amazing how good the espresso tastes after you use it. Much better than the coffee maker descaling cleaners. In fact, to test it, I ran a coffee maker cleaner through it before I used this stuff. What came out when I backflushed it was dark brown soapy water. I had never done it and my Rancilio and it was 10 years old. So it took quite a few flushings to get it clear. Then I was blown away at how much better the espresso tasted.

We have two stainless steel coffee pots that were black inside from coffee. I have tried to clean them using many different products. Nothing has worked. Then I discoverd Urnex Cafiza on Amazon. Only one application and both were completely rid of all coffee residue. I then tried it on a white plastic ice tea jug that was stained badly. I soaked it in a warm water solution of Urnex Cafiza and it looks like it just came off the store shelf. All stains are gone!
I cannot tell you what Urnex Cafiza means or understand all the directions. However, I highly recommed this product. You only need to use a small amount to get great results. Very reasonable price too.

I have one of those all-in-one Delonghi espresso machines that grind and foam automatically. It's over 5 years old and was only ever cleaned the one time I took it in for service. Sure, I manually clean it out regularly and descale it, but I've never used a detergent like this.

Now I've used it a few times and can actually taste a difference. I use this detergent when I descale (about quarterly). The espresso is much stronger and less bitter. Often, it cleans so well I have to stop half way to manually clean the screen because it has become clogged with debris.

Absolutely worth using.
