I have worked in a lab where we take care of various herps and this genus is one of the ones I was personal charged with. We had other literature including other breeder information and this sums up as well as clarifies most of the information. It is well organized, gives a good history and care guidelines as well as helps someone looking for one of these lizards as a pet choose a healthy specimen. It was wonderful pictures which also demonstrate the appearance and the housing. It is also written to the average person's level and doesn't talk down to the reader. It also has minor information on other Agamids and what defines them into that family of lizards.

If you're thinking of owning a Uromastyx, this book is a must have. Giving you a strong layout of the basic requirements it gives you the good and the bad of ownership. It covers the different species of Uro's as well, and most important gives you a good idea of the space requirement for these things. Know what species of Uro you're getting, know what temperatures it needs, habitat requirements as well as diet requirements. Know what you need to know to make owning a Uro possible, and do so using this book.
