Finally a good, honest rock album,

I've been getting kinda tired of all the branches to come offof the "rock" genre -- industrial, hip-hip rock, metal, andothers. Finally, here's a good, solid, straight-up ROCK album! These guys, along with Buckcherry and The Rockfords, are the only groups that I've heard that have a solid, old-school rock sound. It's refreshing to hear this CD after hearing all the fake rock out there nowadays. Every song is catchy as hell. This CD is packed with energy and punch. No matter what kind of rock you're into, grab this CD; it's well worth your $$$

If you like energetic fast paced dare I say ROCK N ROLL get this album, it will not let you down. Every song is great and in a league of its own. I have not been this excited about a new band since Third Eye Blind. If you let U.S. Crush pass you by you WILL be very sorry.

THE REAL DEAL,

I've been waiting for Denny Lake to put out a new CD since I heard, bought and played to death Atomic Boy's "Sonic Cocktail" a few years ago. Denny and his new crew did not disappoint in the slightest. Essential ROCK and Pop with a punk edge. This is the real deal. It is strong and powerful yet musical and melodic in the same stroke. I've heard "Bleed" on the radio as their lead single but they may do even better with "Same Old Story" - track 7. Buy it before it's gone.

80's touch in modern rock,
By A Customer

Nice blend of an 80's touch to a modern rock band, somewhat like marvelous 3 in flavor/other bands that have that nostolgic touch to them. In short? Fun, fun music and energetic as hell.

Familiar Old School Rock,
This review is from: Us Crush (Audio CD)
The sound of the CD is an unpretentious core-rock composition(think Kiss/Bon Jovi/Van Halen kind of sound.) The band was clearly trying to rise above "opening act" status on this CD... packing it with 15 songs.
I can't say there are standout tracks here, but the CD is very even, and it doesn't feel full of filler either. Overall it's not a bad CD to reach for, if you're sick of all the modernist ska/alt/boyBand stuff on the radio.

honestly rockin'.,

I just sorta happened to stumble across these guys in the summer of 2000, I believe. I used to go to this place called the Yucatan in Santa Barbara almost every time I got the chance 'cause it was an all ages place, perfect for the budding young 15 year old music fan. So US Crush was playing that night. I picked up a 3 song demo CD of theirs a few weeks before. It had "Bleed", "Loser" and "Destroy" on it. And Wow!
It was rock and roll. And I know that sounds sort of lame, but what was out during the time? A lot of crappy "alt. rock" bands like the Offspring and those lame ska bands like "the mighty mighty bosstones" who just sort of annoyed the hell out of me. But US Crush was pure Rock and Roll. Some harder stuff thrown in, but just good modern Rock and Roll. And lyrically, it was pretty good too. Honest lyrics. None of that just that sort of pre-packaged to sell garbage. The album had some great drum work, rippin' guitars and harmonies (what a concept!). Not a lot of bands at the time decided harmony was anything of importance or worth doing well. US Crush did it and did it well. Every song on here, I think, is great. Well, "You Wanna Be A Star" was just alright, but everything else, just great musically, lyrically, and vocally. Denny Lake really has a great scream. Not overdone, not too little, and never forced. I dont know what happened to these guys. But this album was great. Even four years later, I still think theyre better than most bands out there. |
