5.0 out of 5 stars Super funny/super fast
Anyone who can't find the humor in this is just a major tight ass. This is one of my favorite cd's. I can't put it in my mp3 player when I go running, because even still, after all these years it makes me laugh. Not a good combo. But any other time, just the perfect cd to enjoy all that is Milano and Co. This cd kicks, a classic.

3.0 out of 5 stars Crude, to the Nth degree
Classic 80s hardcore which crossed over to metal radio. The songs are rude and crude, but largely funny as hell. The track A.I.D.S. is as insensitive and un-PC as it gets, but you really must hear it. Spandex Enormity pokes fun at the fat groupies wearing spandex pants trend which was big in the late 80s. Overall, most of the songs have a similar sound and a lot of them...

5.0 out of 5 stars Classic crossover mosh music!,, April 4, 2004

This review is from: Usa for Mod (Audio CD)
M.O.D. is Billy Milano's full time band. Billy of course being the ex-frontman for hardcore/metal side project S.O.D. S.o.d, were one of the most important crossover bands, in the mid 80's along with D.R.I. So when s.o.d ended Billy put together m.o.d, and this is their classic debut album. It comes as no surprise than, that this album is similar to speak english and die. Billy's on great form here, still managing to be as offensive as usual. But of course Billy was never about being politically correct. Check out the likes of A.I.D.S, or Aren't You Hungry?. But as Billy explained in 87' these are not his views, just the views of the Sargent D type character Corporal Punishment (the figure on the cover), who hates everyone. This band are hilarious, if you have got a sense of humour then check them out. You can hear the band's influences throughout too. I can hear Agnostic Front, Slapshot, and D.R.I, when listening to this cd. If your into s.o.d, crumbsuckers, D.R.I, or any of those 'crossover' type bands you won't be disappointed.

5.0 out of 5 stars M.O.D. fun AND heavy, April 10, 2002
This review is from: Usa for Mod (Audio CD)
When I first bought this album I had already been exposed to S.O.D. so I had an idea of the contents. Needless to say, I was not dissapointed. This album rocks with the best thrash/metal albums in existence. Billy Milano's crude, rude and funny lyrics add re-playability just as much as the catchy guitar riffs do. If you are into Metal and or thrash and appreciate it with a good sense of humor look no further...

well after the demise at the time of the band s.o.d billy milano took a year off and came out with his own version of the same band with out off course scott ian and chalie benante and dan lilker.but all the same its still one of the the funniest heavyest thashiest albums of 1988.with humor and b#lls to match its power.this album goes great in any collection to anyone who likes there music funny and powerfull.the subject these guys crop up are about some of the funnest thing imagineable like from u.sa for africa, to captin crunch,to freddy kruger ot harry chapin to the love boat.these guys just have as much fun as you can offending everyone of all sorts.which makes this a definate 5 star rating in my book.album for all ages only certain people may get certain jokes but some times its best to figure out who they are ragging on your own ..it makes it more fun!!!

4.0 out of 5 stars M.usic O.r D.iarrea, February 10, 2008
This review is from: Usa for Mod (Audio CD)
I agree with the others that this is a funny CD. If you've never heard of them by now and don't own the CD (and aren't around 30), you might not understand the contents. This music came from an era that reminds most of us of our angry youth, the stuff that went on during our time, and (looking back on it now) how stupid we really were.

Musically, it's not bad at all. Lyrically, that's something else. 10-second songs about someone's fat girlfriend or looking like an elf, M.O.D. is a classic that so many overlook.

Great lyrics, fast music, and pertinant subject matter. My personal favorite is spandex enormity, but it's been my favorite since the original album was released in the 80's

one last thing, WOOOOO! (courtesy of Ric Flair)

5.0 out of 5 stars Skatepunk / thrash crossover masterpiece, August 8, 2005
This review is from: Usa for Mod (Audio CD)
There's so much to be said about this album, that it almost defies description. Billy Milano is a gifted vocalist who can put the angels to shame. His deep and meaningful lyrics fit the finely orchestrated music so beautifully that you wonder how this album was never nodded for a Grammy. This is one of the greatest albums ever released and here's why.....

1. Aren't You Hungry - One of Billy's best known pieces. He has performed it also with S.O.D. "Let them all die hungry so I can breather their air" is writing at it';s best.

2. Get A Real Job "Standing on a corner/frozen to the bone/You gotta make a living/but you'd rather be at home" we've all been there.

3. I Executioner - I always considered this to be a song about Jaques Hermonte. The man that executed Marie Antoinette with a heavy heart.

4. Don't Feed The Bears -"Don't go in there/you best beware/and please don't feed the f***ing bears!"

5. Ballad Of Dio - A rather long song timing in at 4 seconds, but Billy had a lot to say.

6. Thrash Or Be Thrashed - Is there really a better title for any song?

7. Let Me Out - Song about suicide and hating your parents. Billy should have been booked on Oprah to help troubled teens and eventually getting his own show.

8. Bubble Butt - "She's so FAT!!! BBbbbbbbBBBBbbb"

9. You're Beat - Also known as Y.B. The moral is clear. Just give up.

10. Bushwackateas - Nice little song about a bald dude who looks like an elf.

11. Man Of Your Dreams - Just like S.O.D., Billy took Freddy Krueger to M.O.D.

12. That Noise - Another S.O.D. idea performed beautifully. "Don't start that s**t again!"

13. Dead Men/Most/Captain Crunch "S.O.D. needed milk. M.O.D. now just needs Captain Crunch as part of his balanced breakfast."

14. Jim Gordon - Apparantly Jim Gorden is a disturbed individual who killed his mother with a hammer.

15. Imported Society - Billy spreads his message how Hispanics and Jews are taking over the country. "Grab your goat/Get on the boat"

16. Spandex Enormity - The crown jewel of the album. This is perhaps Billy's finest songwriting. About an overweight fan that Billy wants no part of.

17. Short But Sweet - The lyrics are the same as the title.

18. Parents - Another teenage rebellion song. Billy sings how his father would carry groceries up twenty flights of stairs for a nickel.

19. Confusion/You're X'ed - The moral is he'd still be alive if he drove a Cadillac.

20. A.I.D.S. - Anally Inflicted Death Sentence!
