The pirate aspect makes the challenging parts of the game--the money transactions, the strategy--all manageable.

Our 7 year-old loves this game--pirates are cool! The pirate aspect makes the challenging parts of the game--the money transactions, the strategy--all manageable. The only weird thing is that the hotels and houses are called "harbors" and "docks," respectively, but are still shaped like hotels and houses--why??

I collect Monopoly Games & play w/my Partner, Nephew's, Niece's, and Grandchildren!!! I've made it a point to teach all of them as soon as I could, some as young as 5yrs. We are a Board Game Family!!

My kids and I love the Pirate's board and the new titles like the "Docking Fee" instead of the same old original Monopoly...I didn't give it 5 stars however for 2 reasons--1st--false advertising--on the cover of the game it advertises "Pirates Dice" with a picture of black decaying dice with white dots, yet, you get the normal white dice with black dots in the game. Also, you are supposed to build docks and harbors instead of houses and hotels, yet, there are the normal house and hotel pieces to put on your property--all in all just saying that these little things would have really tied the whole thing together.

While more fun than the original as we have really enjoyed the Pirate twist, we agree with a couple other comments that the money is too fragile and the houses and hotels are not quite enough. We know that Hasbro wants to keep some of the original Monopoly theme, but the Jail should have been changed to the Brig and Free Parking should have been changed to Free Docking.

This game is a hoot. The properties and money have been changed to places from the Pirate movies with pictures of the characters and places on them. The houses and hotels are silver and gold and the pieces to move are very cool right down to the shrunken head. There isn't enough money, houses or hotels however which makes it hard for lots of players and I found that with regular monopoly too. Also I would have thought changing the jail space to the Brig the free parking to free docking and maybe go to move along or something piratey would have been better. But great fun for pirates of the caribbean fans. My youngest niece says there are not enough pictures of Orlando Bloom as Will on it.

The "Pirates" Monopoly game is a fun collector's item for anyone who loved the series of movies. And for fans of Monopoly. One version of the Pirates Monopoly includes the lyrics to the "Yo-Ho" song, printed on the inside of the box. I bought both versions. One to keep as a collector's item, and one that we get to play with. It made a great gift!
