Simply the best!,
By A Customer
This review is from: The Usborne Book of Face Painting (How to Make) (Paperback)
For ten years, I've been painting faces for carnivals, parties, Halloween - you name it - this book can take rank beginners and allow them to paint very professional looking faces. The instructions are easy to follow, and elaborate on multiple techniques, including sponging and using different brush tips to achieve different effects. I highly recommend it - a word of caution- use only high quality face paints as they cover and blend better than the cheapos! Enjoy!

Face Painting (Hotshots Series),
By A Customer
This review is from: Face Painting (Hotshots Series) (Paperback)
This is a nice, compact, book on face painting. It briefly covers materials, equipment, and technique before showing you a nice variety of face-painting ideas. The directions for achieving each look, while not detailed, are sufficient to create the desired effect. Wonderful for Halloween ideas.

Excellent for any birthday party or special event. Simple enough for the beginner but also interesting full face designs. Great book.

I did the vampiress and japanese doll faces from this book on my daughter and friend. We made an errand to our local "clown store" and all the entertainers said how great they were. Those were just 2 of the fun face designs out of the book. The wicked reptile & colorful butterfly faces from this book are also very nice. There are over 40 faces!

I purchased this book expecting it to have more pictures and be more in depth, but it would be acceptable for beginners.

Generally speaking, ALL Usborne books are great. This one is no exception.
It is a great book to give you some great techniques. You learn step by step different kinds of faces and then you can use those ideas to create your own way of doing it. The publishers do not waste space giving you every possible example of a vampire or dog or whatever. You learn what you need quick & easy and then you make your own ideas work. If you do not know how or have been out of practice (like me) or looking for some new ideas, this is a great book.

I was hoping for more examples. Was disappointed in the variety and lack of faces.

I bought this for my little girl cause she loves unicorns and butterflies face painting. I have a decent catalog but wanted some new ideas, so I bought this book. The designs are more Halloween like (scary) than your everyday jolly facepainting. I have not use it at all, I put it away for when my daughther is older in case she still likes facepainting.

Great Face Painting Tips,

I bought this book for my son's 1st birthday party. Wow! I couldn't get over what a hit face painting was for the kids. Luckily this book had so many good tips, and pictures the kids could choose from. My niece was the artist that followed the book and she did very well with it, mind you she isn't a professional. She found the book very good to follow.
