My children (age 5 & 7) are enjoying this book, though it would be a fun book for older kids as well. (I, too, am learning some things as we read it together for Home school). Each page can take us 15 minutes to get through due to all of the colorful pictures and TONS of fun facts about life long ago. Every few pages there is a simple art project the kids can do related to the page. They have enjoyed those too. I expected the book to be larger than it was when it arrived, but now that we have been reading it I see it is well worth the money.

My four and six year olds enjoy this book. We read a few pages at a time as the information presented is quite dense. The book is divided thematically into chapters (structures, clothing, etc) and within each chapter there are pages dedicated to certain time periods. Information is presented in little blurbs positioned all around each page. The information seems basically correct. This is a good introduction to world history.

My 5 year old daughter has loved this book since she was 3 1/2. It's one of her favorites and I highly recommend it to any kids that like learning about the way people lived or different cultures. It's amazing!

even though this is an educational book, it is one that my 9 year old just picks up on her own to peruse when she is bored. it's a great book that is packed with interesting information. I love how it is organized.. not by time period. but instead as follows: clothes/fashion, homes, food, travel/transportaion. and then within each of those topics, there is information for all sorts of time periods. the pages are very "busy" but that just seems to make the book more fun to read. it doesn't make it confusing or jumbled. there is a wealth of information and it is shared well with nice drawing and good labels and narratives. another book this reminds me of (and we love) is "A Street Through Time." Both books are great.
