The Kings of Leon hadn’t even started to think about making a new album when they headed out to play shows in Australia and South Africa in late 2011. The four Followills -- singer/ guitarist Caleb, guitarist Matthew, drummer Nathan, bassist Jared -- had been on a fairly relentless grind for the preceding eight years, releasing five albums and touring the world dozens of times since ... Editorial Reviews

UK two-track CD pressing features the album version of the title track and is b/w 'Knocked Up' (Lykee Li vs. Rodeo Mix). Kings of leon are the hottest band on the planet right now. Their new album 'only by the night' spent 4 consecutive weeks at no.1 on the aria chart and is fast approaching 3 x platinum sales. The kings have also achieved huge success around the world debuting at no.1 in the uk and no.4 in their native usa. If you thought this band couldn't get any bigger, 'use somebody' is the song that will propel the kings into global mega-stardom. Intensely uplifting, melodic & unique, 'use somebody' is already a firm favourite gaining massive accolades from fans and media alike.

4.0 out of 5 stars Second single from "Only By the Night" May 2, 2009
Format:Audio CD
Kings of Leon have really struck gold in the US (and elsewhere) with their 4th album "Only By the Night", in particular due to first single "Sex on Fire". This is the second single.

"Use Somebody" (4 tracks; 17 min.) starts off with the title track, a great tune, period. It is followed by an intruiging remix of "Knocked Up", featuring Lykke Li. The 3rd track is at times hard-rocking, at times more pensive "Frontier City", a track recorded during "Only By the Night" sessions, but left off from the album. It is a nice track, but I can see why it didn't make the final cut of the album. The last track on here is a remix of "The Bucket" (CSS remix), an older track that finds renewed life. This single also contains the video for "Use Somebody".

In all, this single is quite the nugget for die-hard KoL fans like myself, but for others it may be too far-fetched.

4.0 out of 5 stars Kings of Leon, CD (use somebody) October 23, 2009
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
Very good CD. I still like the good old rock n roll from the 70's. But this was pretty good.

5.0 out of 5 stars Use Somebody November 12, 2012

Love this single. The price was right so I had to get it! It's nice to hear on the radio from time to time but even better without DJ or commercial interrupting the song too soon.

3.0 out of 5 stars only worthy for KOL's devoted fans! October 23, 2012
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
i had become a KOL fan since their very beggining, but with their Only By the Night album i had to admit (even when it hurts me) that they had become mainstream. I got this 5 track EP just because of the b-side 'Frontier City' which i have to say, it is good, but in the same way the Only By the Night tracks are, with the more produced-mainstream kind of touch. For being a KOL fan i have the urge to listen to whatever is new of them, hoping they would give something as good as their old hairy-mustach-careless style days, in this case it wasn't like that, but is not bad though. But that is why i bought this record.

Maybe you want to get this single only if you are really devoted to KOL, but otherwise, if you are expecting great songs like the ones on Y&YM, AHA SHAKE HEARTBREAK and BECAUSE OF THE TIMES, this is not a bit like that. And as of the other 2 songs on this EP, they are electro-dancing remixes of their old classics 'The Bucket' and 'Knocked up', which in my opinion, i stick with the original versions (i am not into electronic music and such).
