Book Description

Lively and jargon-free, this example-driven critical thinking text pays particular attention to fallacious reasoning as well as to the kinds of valid arguments that correspond to nearly every fallacy. The text provides detailed discussions of the types of correct argument and inference corresponding to each fallacy and offers a “Media Watch” section in each chapter.

This review is from: The Uses and Abuses of Argument: Critical Thinking and Fallacious Reasoning with Free Critical Thinking PowerWeb (Paperback)
I was trying to find a general reader's book on critical thinking and logical fallacies, but this is not it. This is a textbook - complete with exercises - for high school or tertiary students. It would have been helpful if this were mentioned in the description.

While it's obviously a competent work, the teaching focus is not really what I'm interested in, and the text is pretty dry. I think this kind of thing could be much more interestingly presented, even as a text book, and it's definitely not for the general reader.
