This review is from: The Uses and Abuses of Argument: Critical Thinking and Fallacious Reasoning with Free Critical Thinking PowerWeb (Paperback)
I was trying to find a general reader's book on critical thinking and logical fallacies, but this is not it. This is a textbook - complete with exercises - for high school or tertiary students. It would have been helpful if this were mentioned in the description. While it's obviously a competent work, the teaching focus is not really what I'm interested in, and the text is pretty dry. I think this kind of thing could be much more interestingly presented, even as a text book, and it's definitely not for the general reader. |
