This is a clear, well written and very accessible introduction to econometrics (5/5). However it has almost no solutions to the questions. This makes it worthless for self study. The answers have been removed and put in the instructor's manual at the request of instructors. This might be OK if you are taking a class. But if the instructor offers so little value-added that they can't make up a problem set of their own then I'd question what you are paying them for. Maybe try the 5ed.

The principles in the book are really easy to understand and follow. For those interested in regression analysis and interpretation of correlation between dependent and independent variables as well as R2 and P-Values, this is a great book that I recommend.

Econometrics isn't the easiest topic in the world to understand and the book can make it more complicated than need be.

The way I learn math is to be given the formula, told why it works (or derive it), use it in an example, use it in a complicated example, then do homework based around it. Best to ask your professor for help as the book can get wordy when trying to explain simple ideas.

This is the easiest to understand textbook I have ever had (on a subject like econometrics). Clear illustrations, and explanations. It also has practice data available from the website if you want to work the extensive examples along with the text.

I bought this book for my class. I like the way it is written but there are no answers to the exercises after each chaper. So you never know if you answers are right or wrong.

this is an easy to understand text if you make the effort to learn the underlying statistics. start with chapter 17 if you have this book - it's the review chapter. i've read the first seven chapters thus far, and so far so good. if i had to do it over again, it's likely that i would just get one of the prior editions as i'm guessing the bulk of the information would be the same.
