3.0 out of 5 stars Great reference, but a bit outdated, March 11, 2000
This review is from: Using Hops: The Complete Guide to Hops for the Craftbrewer (Paperback)
This is a great starter reference on hops. It has descriptions, uses, tips about buying hops, what to look for, and even tips on growing your own hops.

My only problem with this reference is that it is now a bit outdated, as many new types of hops have been introduced since this book was released. These are, of course, not covered. I am hoping the author will release an updated version.

5.0 out of 5 stars A great reference on using hops for home brewing., November 19, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Using Hops: The Complete Guide to Hops for the Craftbrewer (Paperback)
While this book is educational and should be read from cover to cover, most brewers will probably use it more often as a reference work. It has comprehensive descriptions and substitutions for most hop varieties. We reach for it every time we brew.
