This review is from: Using Intensive Interaction and Sensory Integration: A Handbook for Those Who Support People With Severe Autistic Spectrum Disorder (Paperback)
This is a good book and gives a new perspective to the behavior of those with severe autism. The intensive interaction seems similar to floor time, however I have not studied either in detail. I would have liked more instruction in the intensive interaction but the book is rather thin. The sensory integration perspective is nice but not really "Ayers" SI as I know it, just gives a sensory processing perspective and accommodation model to the unique responses to sensory stimuli that those with autism typically have. This book seems targeted for those beginning to work with children on the severe side of the spectrum.
