Great book, in depth insights -,

I will rate this book with 5 stars, as I have found that it has been an very valuable tool. The book does a great job with beginning concepts, and has a good handle on the beginning user. There is more that could have been done on the advanced end, but -- alas we already have a 1000 page book.

Good book, but I expected much more on Domino.,

This is a good reference book to be used in conjunction with other books, but not alone. Some areas are covered completely, some aren't. I was really disappointed with the coverage on Domino (which was my sole purpose for buying the book). There is only one 45-page chapter at the back of the book on Domino, and it isn't very helpful at all. I felt like this chapter was thrown in as an after-thought as opposed to being a main focus. Now, that I've spent money to buy this book, I still have to go out and buy another book that will answer my questions.

I had no previous exposure to Lotus Notes 4.6 or Domino and I needed a thorough introduction to both. This book definitely helped orientate me. The first half of the book seemed to target the Lotus Notes user, not the developer. As a result I found it overly detailed in some areas and seemingly vague in others. If you are looking for a comprehensive introduction to Lotus Notes from a development perspective, this book is a good, though not complete, reference. Besides, to date, I haven't found a better one.

Good in parts, but not everything is covered,

I bought this book because I had just started working for a company and been told to develop a notes application. I found the examples confusing, with some obvious features covered in depth and others barely covered. Now I know notes a little I do use it as an occasional reference, but I learnt more from pulling apart other peoples applications than I did from this book.
