Brutal, HEAVY, August 2, 2007
This review is from: Usurper (Audio CD)
First time i listened to this cd, it sounded like another run of the mill metal band... I was wrong. I started listening to it more and more until i realised, wow.... i really like this. If you want something super heavy BUY USURPER! The songs are not very technical, but who cares... the sound they've created using a meshuggah like "off" rhythm is awesome. There is no singing only relentless brutality. The vocals are super heavy as well as the lyrics: "Ill rip your throat out!" I haven't been able to stop playing this cd, easily one of the heaviest bands I've heard in a while. For fans of A life once lost and meshuggah.

Good CD. I would recommend for Hardcore fans., January 30, 2010

The production isn't great as it's low budget, but it's still good. The guy's vocals aren't always strong, but when he gets it right it's great.

SHAKE HANDS WITH DEATH, June 18, 2009
This review is from: Usurper (Audio CD)
Being a Coalesce fan for years now, I had to try this out. This is heavy, slightly dischordant metal with great time signatures. The comparison to Coalesce is valid because of the vocals, and the music, even though sounds original can be held up to A Life Once Lost.
The songs are like Breakdowns with structured groove mixed in. I for one put this band in my top 20 metalcore/mathy bands. Definately worth the purchase, you will listen repeatedly.

A Kid's Review
This review is from: Usurper (Audio CD)
The debut full length from the handshake murders is a decent slab or metalcore similer to coalesce, a life once lost. etc. All of the songs flow nicely and revolve around the breakdown. Which is the only really weak part on this cd. The handshake murders do not try to change anything up and rely wih the same formula for all of their songs.
