Indicating a turning point for the future treatment of uterine fibroids, this study compares and contrasts conventional surgical treatments with the rapid emergence of uterine artery embolization as an alternative and less invasive procedure. Uterine fibroids, common benign tumors of the uterus and pelvis, are the single most common cause of surgery in women apart from childbirth. The volume provides a very comprehensive account of the epidemiology, pathology, diagnosis and management of uterine fibroids.

Editorial Reviews

Review

"...excellent..." The Journal of American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists

"This is excellent both as a general text and also as a quick reference on the subject of uterine fibroids for any clinician. It is the only general book that I've seen which provides detailed information regarding UFE." Doody's Review Service

The book gives a very comprehensive account of the epidemiology, pathology, diagnosis and management of uterine fibroids, with an ephasis on embolization.

This review is from: Uterine Fibroids: Embolization and other Treatments (Hardcover)
There are so many things one could write about this material that it is truly difficult to know where to begin...

Any book that promotes unnecessary procedures via its contents, is a medical book to be avoided. Sorry Tulandi, et al, but you've let the medical consumer down with this mixed bag of goods on uterine fibroids & embolization.

Uterine artery embolization does NOT require hysteroscopy and laparoscopy prior to UAE. How is it that a gynecologist was asked to write the chapter on fibroid embolization technique, anyway?

Pictures are great. Content is truly lacking in peer review, appropriateness, and accuracy.

I simply expected MORE.
