I have a porch light that required a photocell to extend out from the socket so the photocell sensor would get a clearer view of the ambient light; this due to the design of the plastic wrought iron hanging porch light. Most socket photocells are near flush with the socket and didn't work.

This fixture extends the sensor out from the socket and solved my problem.

I use it with an LED, which is NOT what it was designed for. When the ambient light is decreasing at dusk, the LED starts coming on but goes through a flickering phase until there is relatively little ambient light, then it is fully on.

Again, this unit was designed for flood lights, I took a chance that it would work with my LED porch light, and it does.

For me, it's excellent!!!!
