All the songs are great on this CD. A friend lent it to me to listen to one song and I ended up loving all of them and had to buy my own. It's a great album for personal praise and worship time.

I'd list my favorites but I'd end up listing all of them! I will talk briefly about some of the songs, though:

YOU ARE HOLY (4 Him) - What a great way to open the CD. The group sings beautifully on this song and the complex vocal arrangements really lift you up to a different level.

LOVER OF MY SOUL (Amy Grant) - My eyes always well up with tears when she sings the chorus. Just to know that Jesus is always with us!

MAN AFTER YOUR OWN HEART (Gary Chapman) - We are God's creation and must strive to please Him for He has supplied us with so much. A humbling song.

SOMETIMES HE COMES IN THE CLOUDS (Steven Curtis Chapman) - A heard this song at a memorial service and it reminds me of the Lord's second coming and even how He's still with us today.

MOVE IN ME (Michael W. Smith) - So what do you do when peopel tell you that God does not exist? This is Smitty's answer to those people. Very sweet simple song.

A HEART LIKE MINE (Bryan Duncan) - How much does God love us? A beautiful song sung by a man with powerful vocals!

SHINE ON US (Phillips, Craig & Dean) - What a great way to end the album. Asking for God to shed his light of truth and healing on us. Great vocal blends of harmony. Gorgeous!

By this album. I fell in love the very first moment I heard it. You will too.

This is what special event albums strive for. For an album to live up to the standard of the name "My Utmost," the classic devotional, was a seemingly impossible task, but under the steady hand of Brown Bannister it actually happened. And then some.

In short, MY UTMOST FOR HIS HIGHEST is perfection. Worshipful, beautiful, stirring. Every note, chord, harmony, and string. A stellar artist line-up that will probably never be matched. Songwriting that is just outstanding, perfectly capturing many of the truths and ideas that Oswald Chambers penned so long ago. I literally could not imagine how this album could be made better.

I say the above in all honesty. I am still moved by this project hundreds and hundreds of listens later. It was named one of the top 50 CCM albums of all time by CCM Magazine. You'll not find a better devotional album anywhere. Five Stars.

I heard this album at first in an english class and instantly loved it. It's a masterpiece with fine orchestration and great lyrics.

Special event projects don't get any better then this. The list of artists is top notch, and the songs are the same.

The CD opens with 4Him singing the worship song YOU ARE HOLY, focusing directly on God. Other highlights include MAN AFTER YOUR OWN HEART, GOD OF ALL OF ME, MOVE IN ME, and A HEART LIKE MINE. The focus of the album is on surrendering to God because of who he is and what he has done for us. It also touches on the wonder that God would love us and save us inspite of our sin. While so many songs are standouts, listened to together, they're even better. I keep being drawn back to this album because of the wonderful themes so brilliantly conveyed.

I thoroughly enjoy listening to this CD. It allows me to enter in through praise and worship. I love all of the songs on this CD. My favorites are: "Where He Leads Me" by Twila Paris and "Shine on Us" by Phillips, Craig, and Dean.

I listened to the CD while I was having some really hard times. It allowed me to keep my focus on God and not my problems or my circumstances.

I just bought another copy of this cd. I first heard "Shine On Us" a few years ago and desperatly looked for it (before the days of internet) and finally found it on this album. I didn't know I was about to discover such a great collection of songs that my whole family would enjoy. I have a daughter that fell in love with that song and had it played at her wedding during the unity candle lighting. It is such an appropriate thought for a couple beginning their life together.

I heard this at a friend's house, and automatically loved it. Since I purchased it, it has lived in my cd player almost every day of the week. It is also a great gift to give a friend who may need some encouragement. WONDERFUL!

My sister gave me this CD when I first arrived in the US for college in the fall of 1997. And I have loved it ever since.

Each song will definitely speak to particular instances in your life.

I highly recommend it.

I love the music on this CD. It gets down to the "nitty-gritty" of the Christian life -- surrender, dedication, revival-- and yet its melodies are soothing and quite enjoyable. HOWEVER, BE CAREFUL BEFORE YOU ORDER THIS. There is another CD under the same name, but is called "My Utmost for His Highest: The Covenant." If there's any way to contact a seller BEFORE you buy, you might want to do that to make sure that the non-Covenant title is the one they're selling. Although I ordered this item properly, and the seller advertised that this is what he was selling, I was sent "The Covenant" version, and was extremely disappointed, because it wasn't at all what I ordered. I'm still working through the details, hoping to be able to exchange it, but I might be stuck. So, just a word to the wise . . .

This is my favorite cd! So many artists with their best songs. I listen to this more than all the other contemporary Christian music I own and I have a lot. If you are on the fence about ordering this cd, think no more, you will love it!
