The DVDMotion Full Screen decoder board offers the latest advances to deliver impeccable image quality. It uses VGA-Switch technology, which automatically switches your VGA monitor between the Windows desktop and a crisp, sharp full-screen progressive DVD video. This technique displays full-screen, noninterlaced DVD video with any VGA card by delivering the optimal frame rate for the movie and scaling the video output to precisely match the original film. This produces smoother motion than any other solution, with absolutely no scaling artifacts. In addition to stunning video, the DVDMotion board takes Dolby Digital sound and feeds it to a Dolby Digital or Dolby ProLogic receiver for theaterlike, room-shaking audio with a six-speaker surround system. Or you can connect DVDMotion to your sound card for great stereo sound.

Better Than Expected,
By Henry (San Jose, CA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Utobia 114K "Full Screen" Motion DVD Kit (Personal Computers)
I was shocked at the razor sharp picture I received after installing this on my Celeron 366 system. The best part of this kit was when I hooked up an RCA connector and ran it from my desktop to my Big Screen. WOW! The picture is better than any of my friends DVD players.Installation took less than 10 minutes, they actually included a very easy installation booklet.

I purchased this kit primarily for the excellent Pioneer drive. It is among the fastest you can get, and works like a charm. The included Utobia decoder card, allthough ostensibly superior to most (same people who make the Hollywood Magic), does not work with Windows 2000. I don't really mind this, as I just use a software viewer instead. Utobia promises they'll have a driver out soon. An easy five stars for the drive, just should have mentioned the card requires 95/98/NT.

Beautiful Thing ! (but),

This review is from: Utobia 114K "Full Screen" Motion DVD Kit (Personal Computers)
My first DVD drive, nice nice nice when playing on myCeleron433-Voodoo3 2000 computer. I felt good with its REAL FULLSCREEN feature, just like watching a rasor sharp TV (would be much nice if I had a surround computer speakers). Software is easy to install, the manufacturer was very considerate to include the "S-video to normal TV connector" cable so my normal Sony Stereo TV can be connected with the cheap, easy to find- cable. I also love the audio cable that connect the DVD card to the sound card, so I do not have to keep switching the speaker cable between sound card and DVD card. It also has a cable from DVD to VDO card. So if you get this DVD you have to read the menu carefully, there were quite a few things to be connected before you can enjoy full function of this DVD card. ... I felt that the user manual was too short and not much information on it. The DVD Drive is very classy, no tray like the normal CD ROM drive (pioneer 10X, 5th gen.), love it. TWO bad things I still cannot figure out why. 1) It took me a while to send the signal to a TV because the TV mode button on the "DVDstation software" was not work (I tried re-install it many times). However it worked when I used the short cut key (F5) on the keyboard. 2) Only one Audio connection port. So I can connect it to the computer speakers only, I want the sound to come out to my home audio system for bigger-bolder sound, still couldn't find a way to do it.
